The Corporation of the Township of North Kawartha
By-Law 2014-54
Being a by-law to adopt a Donation/Grant Policy for the Township of North
Kawartha
Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. 2001, Chapter 25, Section 9 provides that a
municipality has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for
the purpose of exercising its authority under this or any other Act;
And Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. 2001, Chapter 25, Section 107 (1)
provides a municipality the power to make grants, on such terms as to security
and otherwise as the council considers appropriate, to any person, group or body,
including a fund, within or outside the boundaries of the municipality for any
purpose that council considers to be in the interests of the municipality;
And Further Whereas the Municipality from time to time receives requests for
donations or grants from the public;
Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Township of North Kawartha
do hereby enact as follows:
1. That the Council of the Township of North Kawartha hereby adopts a
Donation/Grant Policy for the Township of North Kawartha, attached hereto
as Schedule "A".
Read a first, second and third time and passed in open council on the 17th day of
June, 2014.
