* Email LinkedIn Facebook Twitter # Official Plans of the Town of Oakville An official plan is a legal document containing goals, objectives, and policies intended to guide land use, development and growth in a municipality. ## About Oakville's official plan * Identifies Council's policies on how the lands should be used and growth should be managed over the long term * Plans for forecasted population and employment growth to the year 2051 * Is currently in review ## Oakville's official plan is comprised of three official plans Per provincial changes, as of July 1, 2024, the Halton Regional Official Plan remains in effect as an official plan in each local municipality until it is revoked or amended by the respective municipality. This means that there are now three Official Plans which apply to the Town of Oakville: ### Livable Oakville Plan A plan for all lands within the town except the North Oakville East and West Secondary Plan areas.
