## THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF POINT EDWARD BY-LAW NUMBER 5 OF 2017
## Being a By-Law to designate a Community Safety Zone in the Village of Point Edward
WHEREAS Section 5(3) of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001, C.25 as amended provides that powers of every Council are to be exercised by By-Law unless specifically authorized to do otherwise; and
WHEREAS Section 214.1 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, C. h.8 as amended provides that a Council may by by-law designate a part of a highway under its jurisdiction as a Community Safety Zone, if in the Council's opinion, public safety is of special concern on that part of the highway; and
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Point Edward deems it necessary to designate a Community Safety Zone as outlined below in the Village of Point Edward;
## The Council of the Corporation of the Village of Point Edward enacts as follows:
1. The following highways are hereby designated Community Safety Zones in the Village of Point Edward pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act:
2. The regulations pertaining to the designated Community Safety Zones in the Village of Point Edward are in effect twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, twelve months per year.
3. In the event of any conflict between any provisions of this by-law and any other bylaw hereto passed the provisions of this by-law shall prevail.
4. This By-Law shall come into full force and effect upon being passed by Council and installation of necessary signage.
