## THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF POINT EDWARD BYLAW 17 OF 2024
Being a By-law to authorize the collection of waterworks rates.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Village of Point Edward operates a waterworks;
AND WHEREAS the Village has provided property owners the option to connect to the waterworks;
AND WHEREAS the Village has authorized that the waterworks rate for replacing private services on private property related to the St. Clair and Lite Street Reconstruction Project can be paid over a five year period;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Point Edward enacts as follows:
- 1) That for the purpose of replacing private services on private property related to the St. Clair and Lite Street Reconstruction Project, the Corporation of the Village of Point Edward shall loan and collect the amount specified in Schedule A as waterworks rates.
- 2) The waterworks rate shall be charged interest at 0.0% per annum.
- 3) The properties listed on Schedule A shall make an annual payment of principal that shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as municipal taxes. Failure to make these payments will result in collection in a manner similar to unpaid taxes.
- 4) The annual payments shall be collected annually starting in 2025 and extending to and including 2029.
This By-law shall come into full force and effect upon third reading.
