## THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF SAUGEEN SHORES
## BY-LAW 9-2000
Being a by-law to Amend By-law 9-97 of the Corporation of the Town of Port Elgin being a By-law respecting Smoking in Municipal Buildings.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Port Elgin passed By-law 9-97 regulating the smoking of tobacco in public places and workplaces;
AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores deems it desirable to amend By-law 9-97 to regulate the smoking of tobacco in the newly constructed Community Complex located on Tomlinson Drive;
NOW THEREFORE be it enacted by the Council of the Town of Saugeen Shores as follows:
- -... That By-law 9-97 of the Corporation of the Town of Port Elgin is hereby amended by adding Paragraph 2.1 (i) as follows:
- 2.1 (i) Saugeen Shores Community Centre Arena Complex - 600 Tomlinson Drive
- 2 That By-law 9-97 of the Corporation of the Town of Port Elgin is hereby further amended by deleting paragraphs 4.1 a), b) and c) and by replacing said paragraphs with the following:
- 4.1 "Smoking tobacco or holding lighted tobacco is prohibited in the public places and workplaces as defined in this by-law excepting however that the following places may be exempt from Section 2.1 if the facility is under a private rental contract and/or any other lease or contract:
- a) Saugeen Shores Community Centre Arena Complex - 600 Tomlinson
- b) Building or Structure rented by the municipality for residential purposes
- c) Outdoor seating or bleachers within a park
3. This by-law shall become effective on its date of final passage by the Council of the Town of Saugeen Shores.
