# Zoning
### \*\*\*New **Additional Dwelling Units By-law No. 12-25\*\*\***
Scugog Council passed Zoning By-law No. 12-25 to permit Additional Dwelling Units within Settlement Areas as well as within some Rural Areas, subject to criteria. Additional information about Additional Dwelling Units can be found on the Additional Dwelling Units Study page at My.Scugog.ca.
The Township of Scugog's Zoning By-law implements the policies of the Official Plan by regulating:
* Uses of land and buildings
* Locations and height of buildings and other structures on a lot
* Sizes and dimensions of lots
* Requirements for parking
##### Zoning Requirements
To learn the zoning requirements of a specific property:
1. View the Municipal Addressing Map Book and locate the subject property
2. Cross-reference the location of the property with the correct Zoning Map Schedule
* Zoning By-law Schedule A Maps
* Zoning By-law Schedule B Maps
* Zoning By-law Schedule C Maps
3. Cross-reference the Zoning code from the Map Schedule with the Zoning By-law text to determine the permitted uses and regulations for the subject property

##### Zoning By-law Amendments
To apply for a Zoning By-law amendment, complete the Zoning By-law Amendment Guide and Application and submit it to the Planning Department.

Our By-law Enforcement Office can answer questions about the enforcement of zoning regulations and by-law complaints.
