### What are the rules for animals?
Many of our residents have pets, however there are a few rules to consider under the Animal Control By-law:
* The Town does not issue dog licences; however, residents are encouraged to affix a tag with their name and phone number to their pet in case it gets lost.
* Dogs must be contained on their property and leashed when being walked in public places.
* Owners are required to pick up any dog waste.
* Dog owners must ensure their dog does not bark excessively as to disturb their neighbours.

### What about wildlife?
Smooth Rock Falls and the neighbouring wilderness is home to an abundance of wildlife, from black bears to moose to lynx. The area is also renown for our fishing, including: Walleye, Northern Pike and Yellow Perch. More information on fishing and hunting can be found here.
To report problems with bears please contact the Ministry of Natural Resources at 1-866-514-BEAR (2327) . In the event of a wildlife emergency, please call 9-1-1.
