## THE TOWNSHIP OF TARBUTT 2024 WORKPLACE HEALTH &amp; SAFETY STATEMENT The Senior Management and Council of The Township of Tarbutt is committed to preventing the accidental loss of any of its resources, including employees, volunteers and physical assets. m Protection of workers from injury or occupational disease is a major continuing objective. In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, The Township will make every effort to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements, and will strive to reduce the risk of injury and eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, accidents, or personal injury or illness to any person. While The Township of Tarbutt, as employer, is ultimately responsible for worker health, safety and wellness, we recognize that the responsibility for health and safety is shared. Supervisors will be held accountable for the health and safety of workers under their supervision, and all employees will be equally responsible for minimizing risk and accidents within our facilities and on our work sites. Safe work practices and job procedures will be clearly identified and supported. Accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement. Every worker must protect their own health and safety by working in compliance with the law and with safe work practices and procedures established by the employer. Safety is the direct responsibility of all managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors. All management activities will comply with company safety requirements as they relate to planning, operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment. All employees will perform their jobs properly in accordance with established procedures and safe work practices. It is in the best interest of all parties to consider health and safety in every activity.
