City Council passes by-laws, or municipal laws, under authority from the Province of Ontario. The Province authorizes what the municipality can regulate. The City's Licensing and Enforcement Division enforces these by-laws in our community.
View our commonly requested by-laws below, report a by-law complaint, or view our searchable Corporate Policy Database.
## Report a by-law complaint
City Council passes municipal by-laws under authority granted from the Province of Ontario. Municipal Enforcement Services Officers are appointed under authority of the Police Services Act and are tasked with enforcing these by-laws to better serve our community. By-laws are regularly updated so it is important to check before you report a violation.
To report a by-law related compliance issue, including domestic pet control, please contact Municipal Enforcement Services any time at 807-577-MLEO (6536) or submit your complaint online.
