# Zoning By-law #### Interim Control By-law On May 29, 2023 Council passed Interim Control By-law 23-044. **The effect of this By-law is to prohibit** **the erection of any structure, fence, or sign through the duration of this by-law. This includes, but is not limited to, boathouses, retaining walls, patios, landscaping, decks, fences, walls, or shoreline alteration that are in proximity to the 178-metre contour elevation of the Georgian Bay Shoreline.** Amending By-law 23-048 passed on June 7, 2023 included exemptions to By-law 23-044. For further information, please visit the Interim Control By-law webpage. --- #### Zoning By-law 22-075 The Zoning By-law sets out the land uses permitted throughout the municipality by establishing zone categories on site-specific properties. It also regulates such matters as building location (setbacks), lot coverage, building height, and parking. All development proposals must comply with the Zoning By-law requirements. As a result, you should discuss your development proposal with the Planning Department as soon as possible to either ensure that the proposal complies with the By-law or determine an appropriate course of action to address the deficiency early in the process. **Please be advised that the Township's Zoning By-law 22-075 is in full force and effect (save and except the appealed portions, and site-specific zoning under appeal) as per Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) oral decision of March 24, 2023.** Zoning By-law 22-075 Text (PDF) Zoning By-law 22-075 Schedule A (PDF) Zoning By-law 22-075 Schedule B (PDF) ## Interactive Zoning Map 22-075 The Township's Zoning By-law 22-075 is available as a searchable Interactive Zoning Map. You can determine how a property is zoned by entering an address or Tax Assessment Roll Number. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of this information, however, it is not to be used in place of the actual By-law. Zoning By-law 22-075 can be obtained at the Township Office or by downloading a copy on the Township website. The zoning information that is presented is a representation sourced from Geographic Information Systems and is not based on a legal survey. In the event of a discrepancy between the zoning information contained in the Tiny Interactive Zoning Map and the information contained in the records and By-law of the Township, the information contained in the records and By-law of the Township shall be deemed conclusive. Under no circumstances shall the Township be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of, or the inability to use, the Interactive Zoning Map. Zoning maps (Schedules) should always be referred to in conjunction with the text of Zoning By-law 22-075. * Each property is identified by a zone code that is formed from one or more parts, usually a letter designating the major land use type (e.g. SR for Shoreline Residential). Exceptions can also apply to specific properties (e.g. SR-4, with "4" being the exception that applies to a particular property or properties). --- ### Applications Information on applications such as a Zoning By-law Amendment or Minor Variance can be found on our Planning Applications webpage.
