The Municipality of Val Rita-Harty is committed to protecting residents, property, and the environment during emergencies. Depending on the nature and severity of an incident, the Mayor or the Province of Ontario may declare an emergency and activate the Municipal Emergency Response Plan.
Potential emergencies may include:
* Forest fires
* Flooding
* Winter storms
* Tornadoes
* Extended power outages
* Major structural fires
* Transportation accidents
* Water system failures
* Public health emergencies
* Other incidents that may threaten public safety
