Article 2 - General Restrictions 462.2.1 Shrub - hedge - height - within 30' - intersection No person shall plant or maintain a shrub or hedge on a public highway within thirty (30) feet of the intersection of highways, to a height in excess of thirty (30) inches above the established grade of the centre line of the travelled portion of the abutting highway. 462.2.2 Hedge - on highway - height - limited No person shall plant or maintain a hedge on a public highway to a height in excess of thirty (30) inches above the established grade of the centre line of the travelled portion of the abutting highway. 462.2.3 Tree - obstructing vision - at intersection - prohibited No person may plant or maintain a tree on a highway within thirty (30) feet of the intersections of highways, which tree or the branches thereof Page 2 of 2 Chapter 462 June 2, 1994 constitute an obstruction to vision on a highway. 462.2.4 Branches - obstructing vision - trimming - authorized The Engineer of The Corporation of the City of Woodstock is hereby authorized to order the trimming of branches of any tree planted on private property, where the said branches constitute an obstruction to vision within thirty (30) feet of the intersection of highways, and no person shall maintain such branches on trees planted on private property. 462.2.5 Fence - on highway - prohibited No person shall construct or maintain a fence on a highway. Article 3 - Enforcement 462.3.1 Fine - for contravention Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Chapter is guilty of an offence and upon conviction is liable to a fine or penalty as provided in the Provincial Offences Act. By-law 7139-94, June 2, 1994. Article 4 - Repeal 462.4.1 By-law - previous By-law 4903-73 is hereby repealed. By-law 5036-74, December 12, 1974.
