Town of Souris By-laws BY-LAW No. 84-1 LICENSING OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES A by-law respecting the licensing of certain businesses in the Town of Souris. From and after the passing of this by-law, all persons carrying on business in the Town as a Peddler, Transient Trader or carrying on business from a facility, the lawful location of which within the Town does not require the issuance of a permit under the provisions of the Development By-Law No. 2005-11, shall be required to obtain from Town Council a license to operate such business, PROVIDED THAT this By-Law shall not apply to those people selling agricultural or fishing products. Every person requesting a license shall make application in writing to the Town Council on an application form prescribed by the Town Council and setting forth the following information: (i) The owner of the business and, if the owner is a corporation, the principal shareholders of the corporation; (ii) The type of business to be operated; (iii) The nature and kind of goods to be sold or traded at the business; (iv) The location of the business and the place or places where it will operate within the Town; (v) A photograph of the facility from which the business is to operate; (vi) Such other information as the Town Clerk may from time to time require or prescribe. Upon receipt of the application, the Town Council may in its discretion, issue a license hereunder and prescribe a license fee in an amount not exceeding $500.00, which fee shall be paid prior to the delivery of the license to the applicant. A decision of the Town Council with respect to the issuance of a license shall be final and binding. Upon the issuance of a license and the payment of the fee prescribed by the Town Council, the individual shall display the license in a prominent place within the business.
