ATTENDU qu'avis de motion du présent
règlement fut donné à la séance
ordinaire du conseil municipal tenue le
30 mars 2015;

was given at a regular meeting of the
Municipal Council held on March 30, 2015;

The Council decrees the following:
CHAPITRE I
DISPOSITION PRÉLIMINAIRE
1 - DÉFINITIONS
Dans le présent règlement, sauf si le
contexte
le
dicte
autrement,
les
expressions suivantes signifient:
Animal: signifie chien ou chat aux fins
de ce règlement, sauf si le contexte le
dicte autrement.
Chien d'assistance: un chien entraîné
et utilisé pour aider une personne avec
déficience visuelle ou autre.
Chien d'attaque: tout chien élevé,
entraîné ou utilisé pour attaquer une
personne ou un animal, sur commande
ou à vue.
CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY PROVISIONS
1 - DEFINITIONS
In the present by-law, unless the context
requires otherwise, the following expressions
mean:
Animal: means a dog or cat for the purposes
of this by-law, unless the context indicates
otherwise.
Assistance dog: a dog trained and used to
help a person with a disability, whether visual
or other.
Attack dog: any dog bred, trained or used
for attacking a person or animal, either on
command or on sight.

a) est une menace permanente aux
personnes ou autres animaux; ou
b) sans être une menace permanente
fait preuve d'agressivité à l'égard
des
personnes
en
grognant,
montrant
les
dents,
aboyant
fortement ou se comportant de
quelque manière qui indique qu'il
se prépare à attaquer ou à mordre;
ou
c) sans provocation, attaque une
personne
ou
un
animal
domestique; ou
d) tue
ou
blesse
un
animal
domestique
sur
une
propriété
privée ou publique; ou
e) est un chien d'attaque ou de
protection.
Gardien d'un chien ou d'un chat:
toute personne, société ou association
qui est propriétaire d'un chien ou d'un
chat, agit comme son maître ou veille
sur lui en lui procurant le gîte ou le
couvert, incluant le père, la mère ou le
tuteur qui réside avec une personne
mineure qui est propriétaire, maître d'un
chien ou d'un chat ou qui veille sur un
chien ou un chat.
Personne chargée de faire respecter
le présent règlement: tout agent de la
Sécurité publique de Montréal-Ouest ou
policier de la Ville de Montréal ou toute
personne,
société
ou
association
dûment nommée de temps à autre par
résolution
du
Conseil
pour
faire
respecter toutes ou certaines des
dispositions du présent règlement.
Dangerous dog: any dog that:
a) is a continuing threat of harm to
persons or other animals; or
b) without being a continuing threat,
demonstrates aggressiveness towards
a person by growling, showing its
fangs, barking loudly, or behaving in
any other way which indicates it may
attack or bite;
c) without provocation, attacks or bites a
person or a domestic animal; or
d) kills or maims a domestic animal on
private or public property; or
e) is an attack dog or a protection dog.
Keeper of a dog or cat: any person,
partnership or association who is the owner
of a dog or cat, acts as its master or is
responsible for watching over it by providing
food or shelter, including the father, mother
or legal guardian residing with a minor
person who is the owner or master or
watches over a dog or cat.
Person responsible for enforcing this by-
law: any Public Security Officer of the Town
of Montreal West or Police Officer of the City
of Montreal, or any person, partnership or
association duly appointed from time to time
by resolution of Council to enforce all or part
of the provisions of this by-law.

Chien de protection: tout chien élevé,
entraîné ou utilisé pour attaquer dès lors
que son gardien ou son territoire est
menacé ou agressé.
Chien ou chat errant: tout chien ou
chat trouvé sans son gardien, sur la
propriété publique ou sur une propriété
privée
sans
le
consentement
du
propriétaire ou de l'occupant de ladite
propriété privée.
Ville: la ville de Montréal-Ouest.

ENREGISTREMENT DES
CHIENS ET DES CHATS
2.01 - Procédure
Il est interdit de garder un chien ou un
chat dans les limites de la Ville sauf s'il
est enregistré et si un médaillon
d'identité a été obtenu conformément
aux dispositions de ce chapitre. Ledit
médaillon doit être fixé à un collier que
l'animal doit continuellement porter à
son cou.
Dans le but d'enregistrer un chien ou un
chat à l'Hôtel de Ville et d'obtenir un
médaillon d'identité, le gardien doit:
a) remplir un formulaire énonçant les
noms, prénom et domicile du
gardien du chien ou du chat et
remettre ce formulaire à la Ville. Il
incombe au gardien du chien ou du
chat d'informer la Ville de tout
changement d'adresse;
b) si le gardien est un mineur, le
consentement écrit de son père, sa
mère
ou
de
son
tuteur doit
accompagner le formulaire;
Protection dog: any dog bred, trained or
used for attacking whenever its keeper or
territory is threatened or assaulted.
Stray dog or cat: a dog or cat found without
its keeper, either on public property or on
private property without the consent of the
owner or occupant of such private property.
Town: the Town of Montreal West.
2 - REGISTRATION OF DOGS OR CATS
2.01 - Procedure
It shall be prohibited to keep a dog or cat,
within the limits of the Town, unless it has
been registered and a licence tag has been
obtained pursuant to the provisions of this
chapter. Said tag must be affixed to a collar
to be continually worn around the animal's
neck.
In order to register a dog or cat at Town Hall
and obtain a licence tag, the keeper shall:
a) fill out a form setting forth the name,
surname and domicile of the keeper of
the dog or cat, such form to be filed
with the Town. It is incumbent on the
dog or cat keeper to advise the Town of
any change of address;
b) if the keeper is a minor person, the
written consent of the father, mother or
legal guardian shall be provided along
with said form;

c) identifier le chien ou le chat par sa

2.02
-
Période
de
validité
du
médaillon d'identité
L'enregistrement d'un chat est valide
pour la vie du chat. Pour les chiens,
l'enregistrement doit être renouvelé
annuellement, le ou avant le 1er janvier
de chaque année, et à cette occasion
un nouveau médaillon sera remis. Le
médaillon d'identité n'est transférable ni
d'un gardien à un autre ni d'un animal à
un autre et aucune remise sur les frais
acquittés ne sera consentie en cas de
décès ou de perte de l'animal ou de son
déménagement
vers
une
autre
municipalité.
2.03 - Clé d'accès ou médaillon
perdu
En cas de perte, vol ou destruction du
médaillon ou de la clé d'accès, la
personne à qui il avait été remis peut le
faire remplacer sur paiement des frais
prescrits au règlement no 2007-005 sur
les tarifs. Les droits d'accès de la clé
perdue,
volée
ou
détruite
sont
désactivés dans ce cas.

c) identify the dog or cat as to breed, sex,
colour and name;
d) produce a certificate signed by a
veterinarian stipulating that said dog or
cat has been spayed or neutered, if
such is the case;
e) pay the registration fee as set out in By-
Law No. 2007-005 relating to tariffs.
2.02 - Period of validity of licence tag
The registration of a cat is valid for the life of
the cat. In the case of dogs, the registration
must be renewed annually on or before
January 1 of each year at which time a new
tag will be issued. The licence tag shall not
be transferable from a keeper or animal to
another one and there shall be no rebate on
the paid fee if it dies or is lost, or moved to
another municipality.
2.03 - Lost tag or access key
Should the tag or access key be lost, stolen
or destroyed, the person to whom it was
issued may have it replaced upon payment
of a fee as set out in By-Law No. 2007-005
relating to tariffs. Access rights related to the
lost, stolen or destroyed key are repealed in
such a case..

2.04 - Chien ou chat appartenant à

Aucun chien ou chat gardé dans une
municipalité autre que la Ville ne sera
permis dans les limites de la Ville, sauf
s'il porte un médaillon émis par la ville,
la municipalité ou l'arrondissement où il
est habituellement gardé.
Si la municipalité où l'animal est gardé
n'exige
pas
qu'il
soit
visiblement
identifié, ledit chien ou chat devra
malgré tout porter une plaque ou un
médaillon permettant d'identifier son
gardien.
3 - RESPONSABILITÉS ENVERS LES
CHIENS ET LES CHATS
3.01 - Responsabilité envers les
chiens et les chats
Il est interdit au gardien d'un chien ou
d'un chat d'abandonner ledit animal.
3.02 - Surveillance des chiens ou des
chats
Il est interdit de causer ou permettre
que soit causée quelque douleur,
souffrance ou blessure non nécessaire
à un chien ou un chat.
3.03 - Usage interdit
Personne n'a le droit de répandre du
poison ou d'installer des pièges sur sa
propriété ou ailleurs dans l'intention
d'éloigner les chiens et chats.
2.04 - Dog or cat owned by a non-
resident
No dog or cat kept in a municipality other
than the Town shall be allowed within the
limits of the Town, unless it is wearing a tag
supplied by the Town or by the municipality
or borough in which it is usually kept.
If the municipality where such animal is kept
does not require that it be visibly identified,
the said dog or cat shall nonetheless wear a
tag or medal for identification purposes of its
keeper.
3 - RESPONSIBILITIES TOWARDS DOGS
AND CATS
3.01 - Responsibility for the dog or cat
The keeper of a dog or cat shall not abandon
said animal.
3.02 - Supervision of the dog or cat
No one shall cause or allow to be caused
any unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to a
dog or cat.
3.03 - Prohibited use
No one has the right to spread poison or set
traps on his/her property or elsewhere with
the intention of deterring dogs or cats.

3.04 - Nombre de chiens et de chats

habitation et les structures accessoires
d'un édifice où l'habitation est située.
Cependant dans le cas où une chienne
ou une chatte met bas, les chiots ou
chatons de la portée peuvent être
gardés par le gardien pour une période
n'excédant pas trois mois.
3.05 - Promener un chien
Un chien doit en tout temps être tenu en
laisse dont la longueur maximum sera
de moins de deux mètres, sauf sur la
propriété appartenant à ou occupée par
son gardien, ou en présence de son
gardien dans un parc canin ou une zone
d'exercice pour chiens. Cette seconde
exception
est
sujette
aux
sous-
paragraphes 3 et 4 du paragraphe b) de
l'article 4.01.
Si le gardien est absent de ladite
propriété ou présent, mais à l'intérieur,
tout chien du gardien à l'extérieur doit
être restreint par une laisse, laquelle
n'est pas soumise à une limite de
longueur, mais ne doit pas permettre au
chien d'outrepasser les limites de la
propriété. Cependant, si la propriété est
clôturée ou fermée de telle manière que
le chien ne peut s'en échapper, on peut
le laisser sans laisse.
3.04 - Number of dogs and cats allowed
It shall be prohibited to keep more than three
(3) dogs and four (4) cats in a dwelling and
the accessory structures of a building where
such dwelling is located. However, in the
event that a dog or cat gives birth to a litter of
puppies or kittens, such puppies or kittens
may be kept by the keeper for a period not
exceeding three months.
3.05 - Dog walking
A dog must at all times be held on a leash of
less than two metres in length, except on the
property owned or occupied by its keeper in
the presence of the latter, or in the presence
of the keeper in a dog park or dog exercise
area. This second exception is subject to
subparagraphs 3 and 4 of paragraph (b) of
section 4.01.
If the keeper is absent from said owned or
occupied property or present but inside, any
keeper's dog which is outside must be held
on a leash that is not subject to length
requirements but shall not permit the dog to
go beyond the limits of that property.
However, if the property is fenced or
enclosed in such a way that the dog cannot
escape the property, it may be left off leash.

4 - NUISANCES
4.01 - Définition de nuisances
a) Les faits, circonstances et gestes
qui
suivent
constituent
des
nuisances aux termes du présent
règlement et sont interdits. Le
gardien d'un chien ou d'un chat ou
toute autre personne qui cause ou
permet telles nuisances ou dont le
chien ou le chat se comporte de
façon à créer une nuisance agit en
violation du présent règlement:
1) chien ou chat qui dérange
des ordures;
2) chien ou chat qui cause des
dommages à la propriété;
3) chien ou chat qui aboie,
hurle ou miaule au point de
troubler la paix ou déranger le
voisinage;
4) odeurs nauséabondes qui
émanent de la propriété où un
chien ou un chat est gardé, au
point de déranger le voisinage;
5) omission du gardien de
nettoyer
par
un
moyen
approprié
les
excréments
laissés par son chien ou son
chat sur une propriété privée
ou publique;
6) chien dangereux;
7) chien ou chat errant;
8) présence d'un chien dans
une cour d'école, un parc
public, un terrain de jeu ou
terrain de sport.
4 - NUISANCES
4.01 - Definitions of nuisances
a) The following facts, circumstances and
acts constitute a nuisance under the
present by-law and are prohibited. The
keeper of a dog or cat or other person
who causes or allows such nuisances or
whose dog or cat acts in such a way as to
create a nuisance acts in violation of this
by-law:
1) dog or cat displacing garbage;
2) dog or cat causing damage to
property;
3) dog or cat barking or howling or
caterwauling
to
the
point
of
troubling
the
peace
or
of
disturbing the neighbourhood;
4) nauseating odors that emanate
from the property where a dog or
cat is kept, to the point of
disturbing the neighbourhood;
5) omission of a keeper to clean,
by any appropriate means, any
excrements left by his/her dog or
cat on a private or public property;
6) dangerous dog;
7) stray dog or cat;
8) presence of a dog in a school
yard, public park, playground or
sports field.

b) Cependant, ne constituent pas une
nuisance aux termes du sous-
paragraphe 8 du paragraphe (a)
du présent article:
1) un chien d'assistance dans
un endroit public, s'il est tenu
en laisse ou harnais par une
personne handicapée et s'il
agit comme guide ou aide pour
cette personne;
2) un chien ou un chat tenu en
laisse et amené à un parc
public, pourvu qu'il soit gardé
hors des terrains de jeu ou de
sport;
3) malgré
le
sous-
paragraphe 7,
un
chien
accompagné de son gardien
peut, aux heures indiquées,
s'exercer sans laisse dans tout
parc de la Ville spécifiquement
identifié comme aire d'exercice
pour chiens par des affiches
officielles de la Ville, pourvu
qu'aucune activité organisée
par la Ville ou l'Association
civique
récréative
ne
se
déroule dans la zone visée;
4) malgré
le
sous-
paragraphe 7,
un
chien
accompagné de son gardien
peut, à longueur d'année et
aux
heures
indiquées,
s'exercer sans laisse dans
toute aire entièrement fermée
par une clôture ou autre
barrière et désignée comme
parc canin par des écriteaux
officiels de la Ville.
b) However,
the
following
shall
not
constitute
a
nuisance
under
subparagraph 8 of paragraph (a) of this
section:
1) an assistance dog in public
places, if it is held on a leash or
harness by a disabled person and
is acting as this person's guide or
helper;
2) a dog or cat held on a leash
and brought to a public park, as
long
as
it
is
kept
off
the
playground or sports field;
3) notwithstanding subparagraph
7, a dog accompanied by its
keeper may, at posted hours,
exercise off leash in any Town's
park specifically identified as dog
exercise area by official signs of
the Town, providing no activity
organized by the Town or the
Civic Recreation Association is
under way in said area at the time;
4) notwithstanding subparagraph
7, a dog accompanied by its
keeper may, at times as posted,
throughout the year, exercise off
leash in any area fully enclosed by
a fence or similar barrier that is
designated as a dog park by
official signs of the Town.

4.02 - Chiens causant des blessures
Le gardien d'un chien qui cause des
blessures à un autre animal ou à une

des blessures pourra être saisi par toute
personne chargée de faire respecter le
présent règlement et amené à la
fourrière.
4.03 - Chiens d'attaque interdits
La présence d'un chien d'attaque
n'importe où dans la Ville, sauf sur les
propriétés industrielles, constitue une
nuisance et est interdite.
4.04 - Chiens dangereux dans un
enclos
Malgré le second paragraphe de l'article
3.05, tout chien dangereux sur propriété
privée doit être gardé dans un enclos ou
sur une propriété clôturée de tous côtés
empêchant le chien de s'enfuir en
sautant par-dessus la clôture ou en
creusant dessous. Si ces conditions ne
sont pas respectées, l'on doit garder le
chien dans une bâtisse fermée dont il
ne peut s'enfuir.
4.02 - Dogs causing injury
The keeper of a dog that causes injury to
another animal or a person must at all times
thereafter keep such dog muzzled on public
property. This section does not apply to a
dog that causes an injury on property
belonging to, rented by or occupied by the
keeper of such dog.
A dog that is found not muzzled on public
property, after having caused an injury, can
be seized by any person responsible for
enforcing this by-law and taken to the pound.
4.03 - Attack dogs not allowed
The presence of an attack dog anywhere in
the Town, except in industrial properties,
constitutes a nuisance and is prohibited.
4.04 - Dangerous dogs in enclosure
Notwithstanding the second paragraph of
section 3.05, any dangerous dog on a private
property must be kept in an enclosure or a
property fenced-in on all sides so that the
dog cannot in any way escape through the
fence, by jumping over it or digging under it.
If these conditions are not met, the dog must
be kept inside a closed building from which it
cannot escape.

Le gardien d'un tel chien doit avertir
toute personne souhaitant accéder à la
propriété de la présence d'un chien
dangereux en affichant un avis écrit
facilement visible de la rue.
4.05 - Chiens ou chats errants
Quiconque attrape ou recueille un chien
ou un chat errant le remettra à la
personne chargée de faire respecter le
présent règlement qui l'emmènera à la
fourrière. Si le gardien de l'animal est
connu, la Ville l'avertira aussitôt qu'il
peut le reprendre dans les cinq (5) jours
ouvrables en acquittant, pour chaque
animal visé, les frais quotidiens établis
dans le règlement 2007-05 sur les tarifs,
en plus des frais de licence si aucune
n'avait précédemment été prise, plus
l'amende. Si l'animal n'est pas repris, il
pourra être remis à la Société pour la
prévention de la cruauté envers les
animaux pour en disposer. Si le gardien
est inconnu, le délai sera de trois (3)
jours ouvrables.
4.1 - PARC CANIN
(Règ. 2015-009, art. 1)
4.1.01 - Champ d'application
Les dispositions qui suivent s'appliquent
à un parc canin désigné en vertu du
sous-paragraphe 4 du paragraphe b) de
l'article 4.01.
4.1.02 - Conditions d'admission
Ne peut être admis dans le parc qu'un
chien dont le gardien détient une clé
d'accès électronique émise par la Ville
lors de l'enregistrement de son animal.
The keeper of such a dog shall inform any
person wishing to enter the property of the
presence of a dangerous dog by posting a
written notice which is easily seen from the
street.
4.05 - Stray dogs or cats
Any stray dog or cat caught or rescued by
anyone shall be handed over to a person
responsible for enforcing this by-law who
shall cause it to be impounded. If the keeper
of any such animal is known, the Town shall
notify him/her forthwith that it may be
collected within five (5) working days by
paying the daily charges set in By-Law No.
2007-05
relating
to
Tariffs
for
each
concerned animal in addition to the cost of a
license, if none was previously taken, plus
the fine. If the animal is not collected, it may
be turned over to the Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for disposal.
The time line shall be three (3) working days
if the keeper is unknown.
4.1 - DOG PARK
(By-Law 2015-009, art. 1)
4.1.01 - Scope of application
The following provisions apply to a dog park
designated according to subparagraph 4 of
paragraph (b) of section 4.01.
4.1.02 - Prerequisites for entry
A dog can only be admitted in the park if its
keeper holds an electronic access key
issued by the Town upon registration of
his/her animal. One key is issued for each

4.1.03 - Port d'un collier
En plus du médaillon d'identité, un chien
admis dans le parc doit porter en tout
temps un collier avec son nom et le
numéro
de
téléphone
auquel
son
gardien peut être rejoint.
4.1.04 - Chiens d'autres villes
Malgré l'article 2.04, un chien gardé
dans une autre municipalité que la Ville
peut être admis dans le parc, à
condition
d'être
enregistré
conformément à l'article 2.01 et que son
gardien se conforme aux articles 4.1.02
et 4.1.03.
4.1.05 - Portes de l'aire d'attente
Le gardien doit s'assurer que les deux
portes de l'aire d'attente ne sont pas
ouvertes en même temps.
4.1.06 - Aire d'attente
Le chien doit être tenu en laisse dans
l'aire d'attente du parc, que ce soit pour
y entrer ou en sortir.
4.1.07 - Laisse
Dans le parc, le gardien du chien doit
transporter sa laisse en tout temps.

be met in order to register the dog, the
keeper
must
provide
a
valid
rabies
vaccination certificate. If this certificate
expires during the year, the keeper must
provide another one without delay in order to
keep his/her access rights.

4.1.03 - Wearing of a collar
In addition to its license tag, a dog admitted
in the park must wear at all times a collar ID
with its name and the phone number where
its keeper may be reached.
4.1.04 - Dogs from other municipalities
Notwithstanding section 2.04, a dog kept in
a municipality other than the Town may be
admitted in the park if it is registered in
accordance with section 2.01 and if its
keeper complies with sections 4.1.02 and
4.1.03.
4.1.05 - Doors of the holding area
The keeper must see to it that both gates of
the holding area are not open at the same
time.
4.1.06 - Holding area
Dogs must be leashed entering and exiting
the holding area of the park.
4.1.07 - Leash
The keeper of a dog must carry its leash at
all times while in the park.

4.1.08 - Nombre limite de chiens

4.1.11 - Interdictions
Sont interdites dans le parc les activités
suivantes :
a) la
consommation
de
nourriture
humaine;
b) la consommation d'alcool;
c) l'usage du tabac;
d) l'utilisation de contenants de verre.
4.1.12 - Propreté
Le gardien doit prendre les moyens
appropriés pour nettoyer sans délai les
excréments laissés par son chien.
4.1.13 - Suspension ou révocation
En sus de toute amende, le défaut de
respecter les dispositions qui précèdent
expose le contrevenant à la suspension
ou révocation immédiate de ses droits
d'accès au parc.
4.1.08 - Maximum number of dogs
The keeper shall not walk more than three
dogs at a time in the park.
4.1.09 - Dog unattended
The keeper shall not leave the park with the
dog unattended.
4.1.10 - Young children
Children under the age of 12 are not
authorized to access the park without being
accompanied by an adult.
4.1.11 - Prohibitions
The following activities are forbidden in the
park:
a) human food consumption;
b) alcohol consumption;
c) smoking;
d) use of glass containers.
4.1.12 - Cleanliness
The keeper shall use whatever means are
necessary to clean at once any excrement
left by his/her dog.
4.1.13 - Suspension or repealing
In addition to fines, non-compliance with the
provisions of this chapter may expose the
offender
to
immediate
suspension
or
repealing of his/her access rights to the park.

5 - CHENILS ET REFUGES
5.01 - Définitions
Toute personne gardant plus de trois (3)
chiens et quatre (4) chats sera réputée
exploiter un chenil ou refuge, sous
réserve de l'article 3.04.
5.02 - Endroits interdits
Les chenils et refuges sont interdits
dans les zones résidentielles de la Ville.
5.03 - Permis spéciaux
Les personnes qui souhaitent exploiter
un chenil ou refuge aux fins d'élever des
animaux ou de s'occuper d'animaux
dans les limites de la Ville doivent
demander un permis spécial au conseil
municipal (en plus de l'enregistrement
requis de chaque animal aux termes du
chapitre 2) lequel permis peut être
délivré aux conditions que le Conseil
déterminera.
6 - APPLICATION ET AMENDES
6.01 - Agent autorisé
Toute
personne
chargée
de
faire
respecter ce règlement peut inspecter,
visiter et pénétrer dans n'importe quelle
propriété, terrain ou bâtiment, pour
s'assurer que l'on se conforme aux
dispositions du présent règlement.
Le propriétaire, locataire ou occupant
devra permettre à ladite personne
d'accéder à la propriété.
5 - KENNELS AND SHELTERS
5.01 - Definition
Any person keeping more than three (3)
dogs and (4) cats shall be considered to be
operating a kennel or shelter, subject to
section 3.04.
5.02 - Forbidden Locations
Kennels and shelters are not permitted in
residential zones of the Town.
5.03 - Special Permits
Persons wishing to operate a kennel or
shelter for the breeding of, or dealing with
animals within Town limits must request a
special permit from the Town Council (in
addition to the registration required of each
animal by virtue of chapter 2), which may be
granted under such conditions as Council will
determine.
6 - ENFORCEMENT AND FINES
6.01 - Authorized officer
Any person responsible for enforcing this by-
law may inspect, visit and enter a property,
whether land or a building, to ensure that the
provisions thereof are complied with.
The owner, tenant or occupant shall allow
said person in or on the property.

6.02 - Pénalités
Quiconque, incluant le gardien du chien

minimum est de 200 $ pour une
personne physique et de 400 $ pour

personne
morale.

personne physique et à 4000 $ pour
une personne morale.
7 - DISPOSITIONS FINALES
7.01 - Remplacement
Le présent règlement remplace le
règlement no 395 et ses amendements
subséquents.
7.02 - Entrée en vigueur
Le présent règlement entre en vigueur
conformément à la loi.
6.02 - Penalties
Anyone, including the keeper of a dog or cat,
who allows this animal to infringe any of the
provisions of this by-law, or who otherwise
infringes any of its provisions, commits an
offence and is liable to a minimum fine of
$100 for a natural person and $200 for a
legal person, without prejudice to the Town's
other recourses. The maximum fine is
$1,000 for a natural person and $2,000 for a
legal person.
6.03
-
Second
and
subsequent
convictions
In the case of repeat offence, the minimum
fine is $200 for a natural person and $400 for
a legal person. The maximum fine is $2,000
for a natural person and $4,000 for a legal
person.
7 - FINAL PROVISIONS
7.01 - Replacement
This by-law shall replace By-Law No. 395
and its subsequent amendments.
7.02 - Coming into force
The present By-Law shall come into force
according to Law.
