BYLAW NO 3-23
VILLAGE OF BELLE PLAINE
A BYLAW OF THE VILLAGE OF BELLE PLAINE TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR
THE USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY
SERVICE CHARGE FOR THE USE OF SEWER.
The Council of the Village of Belle Plaine, in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
1. The charges to be paid by the water consumer whose water service has been turned on shall be those set out in
Schedule A attached; provided, however, that the minimum shall be payable in every case whether or not any
water is consumed.
2. Persons who own or occupy premises that are required to be drained into the sewer shall pay for such services a
service charge in accordance with Schedule B attached.
3. Accounts for water service and sewer service shall cover a period of one month and shall be rendered on or
before the first day of the month next following such period. Accounts shall be paid within a period of thirty days
from the date on which such accounts are rendered. If an account is not paid within a period of sixty days, the
water service may be cut off. When the water service is cut off, it shall not be turned on until all arrears have been
paid together with a fee of $125.00 to cover expenses of turning off water and turning it on again.
4. Persons who occupy premises that are rented shall be required to pay on deposit $150.00 for water and sewer
services before such services are provided.
5. Unpaid charges for water and sewer services provided to the premises on a parcel of land may be added to the
tax roll pertaining to that parcel as per Section 369 (1) B of The Municipalities Act.
6. Persons who make application for water services are required to have installed on the premises a remote read
water meter as approved by Council.
7. Persons who make application for sewer services are required to have installed on the premises a sewer pump
and septic tank as approved by Council.
8. Bylaw No. 4-16 is hereby repealed.
The rates, charges, tolls or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect on the day of approval being
issued by the Local Government Committee.

$41.80 per 1000 gallons water or part thereof

$20.00 per 1000 gallons sewer per month, minimum charge

All Premises are required to be hooked up to the sewage collection system.
i. $20.00 per 1000 gallons or part thereof
