## Water & Sewer Rates Bylaw
## A BYLAW TO PROVIDE FOR FIXING WATER RATES, SEWER SERVICE CHARGES AND INFRASTRUCTURE FEE
The Council of the Village of Climax, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
1. This bylaw may be cited as the "Water & Sewer Ratés Bylaw".
2. Purpose:
The purpose of this Bylaw is to provide for the fixing of water rates, sewer service charges, and infrastructure fees.
3. General:

All persons desiring to be supplied with water from the Village of Climax shall contact the Municipal Administration to set up a Utility Account, sign a Utility Account Agreement and make an appointment to have their services turned on. After hours and/or weekend appointments may be provided upon availability and shall be subject to a $75.00 non-refundable fee.
- b) All new Utility Accounts shall be subject to a Meter Deposit of $75.00. This Meter Deposit fee shall be returned to the account holder when water services are no longer required provided there are no water/sewer fees still owing to the Municipality.
- c) The charges to be paid by the water consumer whose water service has been turned on shall be those set out in Schedule "A" attached; provided, however, that the minimum shall be payable in every case whether or not any water is consumed.
- d) Persons who own or occupy premises drained or that are by bylaw required to be drained into the sewer shall pay for such services in accordance with Schedule "B" attached
- e) Accounts for water services and/or sewer services shall cover a period of 1 month, and shall be rendered during the month following the billing period. Accounts shall be paid within a period of thirty (30) days from the date on which such accounts are rendered.
- f) All water and sewer accounts which are outstanding thirty (30) days after the account is rendered shall have a penalty of 2.9% of the arrears per month added to the account.
3. If an account is not paid within a period of ninety (90) days, the water service will be turned off after giving the person(s) two (2) weeks' notice to pay in full. It will not be turned on until all arrears have been paid and a reconnection fee of $100.00 has been paid to the Municipality.
- h) An Infrastructure fee of $43.00 will be applied monthly to each Utility bill for the purpose of constructing needed infrastructure in the future.
- i) The rates, charges, tolls or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect on the day of approval being issued by the Local Government Committee.
4. This Bylaw repeals Bylaw No. 2025-02.
