## BYLAW NO. 4 - 2013
A BYLAW TO CONTROL THE USE OF FIREWORKS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF FOAM LAKE.
The Council of the Town of Foam Lake in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
- "Fireworks" means firecrackers, rockets, squib or any other object or substance designed to be exploded or burned to produce noises or brilliant lighting effect and does not include paper percussion caps for the toy guns.
2. No person shall discharge, detonate, ignite or cause to be exploded fireworks from any location within the boundaries of the Town of Foam Lake except for special occasions authorized by the Council of the Town of Foam Lake.
3. Fireworks must be held at a safe distance from all combustible materials and all highways, overhead wires, buildings and other structures.
4. Fireworks must be conducted in a safe manner so that all spectators are at a safe distance and that suitable fire extinguishers or other proper means of extinguishers are at hand.
5. All unused fireworks and debris created by the fireworks must be safely removed and disposed of immediately after the display.
6. No person shall sell fireworks to children less than eighteen years of age.
7. The Town of Foam Lake or the Fire Chief may temporarily or permanently suspend or terminate any fire works if it:
- a. is or is threatening to become a danger to any property or to public health or safety;
- b. is inadequately equipped with fire safety or suppression equipment;
- c. or approval from council has not been obtained.
8. Fireworks permit fee is $20.00 per application.
9. Anyone violating the provision of the Bylaw shall be liable for each offence, to a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and not more than two thousand five hundred dollars $2,500.00).
10. Bylaw No. 5-2009 is hereby repealed.
