## SEWER &amp; WATER BYLAW BYLAW NO. 1-2002 A BYLAW TO REGULATE AND CONTROL THE USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER FROM THE MUNICIPALITIES' WATERWORKS SYSTEM, AND CONTROLLING AND REGULATING THE DISCHARGE OF SEWER INTO THE MUNICIPALITIES SEWAGE SYSTEM AND WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY, AND THE SETTING OF A SCHEDULE FOR SEWER AND WATER RATES. The Council of the Village of Laird in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: 1. This bylaw shall be cited as "The Sewer and Water and Water Management Bylaw". 2. In this bylaw, including this section: 3. "Municipality" means the Village of Laird; - b) "Clerk" means the Clerk/Administrator of the municipality. 3. Person who want to be supplied with water from the municipal system must make application to the Clerk of the Municipality. 4. Each application shall be accompanied by the payment for a water meter in the sum of: $ 50.00 - 5/8" meters 100.00 - 1" meter 75.00 - 3/4" meters 5. The municipality shall have the right by Bylaw to limit the amount of water furnished to any customer, should circumstances seem to warrant such action. 6. No person shall convey, sell, dispose of or give away or permit water to be carried or taken away or use it or supply it for the use or benefit of others. 7. No person shall discharge into any drain, sewer or sewerage system operated by the municipality of a harmful matter, substance or thing, whether liquid or solid, that would be injurious to health, life or property or that would injure pollute or damage any stream, watercourse, drain sewer, sewerage system or sewage treatment plant. - b) The service of any person who contravenes this section of the bylaw shall be discontinued. 8. Rates for sewer and water shall be as outlined in attached Schedule "A". 9. Accounts for water service and/or sewer services shall cover a period of three successive months, and shall be rendered on or before the fifteenth day of the month next following such periods. 10. Accounts for water service and/or sewer service shall cover a period of one month, and shall be rendered on or before the first day of the month next following such period. Accounts shall be paid with a period of 60 days from the date on which such accounts are rendered. If an account is not paid within the period of 60 days, the water service may be cut off. The water service is cut off, it shall not be turned on until all arrears have been paid, together with a fee of $100. to cover the expenses of turning off the water and turning it on again; provided that if it is required to turn on the water service outside the employees' regular working hours, the fee may be $200. 11. Septic tank installations and method of discharging the sewage from the said septic tanks shall be at the sole discretion of the municipality. 12.
