BYLAW NO. 6/1984 A BYLAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF WATER METERS The Council of the Village of Leask in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows: INTERPRETATION 1) For the purpose of this bylaw the expression: a) "municipality" shall mean the Village of Leask Scope of Bylaw: 2) Water meters shall be installed in every connection to the municipal water distribution system. 3) Persons desiring to be supplied with water from the municipal system must make application to the clerk of the municipality. Each application shall be accompanied by the payment of a water meter deposit in the sum of $50.00 for a 3/4" flow meter and $100.00 for a meter larger than 3/4" flow. 4) The water meter deposit shall be refunded upon service being discontinued, all water usage charges paid in full, and the meter returned to the village in good working condition. 5) Water meters shall remain the property of the municipality. Infraction of the Bylaw: 6) Any person who willfully damages or tampers with or breaks the seal on any meter shall be deemed guilty of an infraction of this bylaw. 7) Any person who obstructs or refuses to admit authorized servants or agents of the municipality to have free access at proper hours of the day and upon reasonable notice given, and or request made, to all parts of the premises in which water is delivered, for the purpose of inspecting or repairing any service pipe or for the placing of meters upon any service pipe or connection within or without any buildings as he deems expedient and for the purpose of protecting or regulating the use of any meter shall be deemed guilty of an infraction of this bylaw. Penalty: 8) Any person found guilty of an infraction of any of the provisions of this bylaw shall be liable to the penalties provided in the general penalty bylaw of the municipality. ______________________ MAYOR _______________________ SECRETARY TREASURER Read a third time and adopted this 21stday of March, 1984.
