## BYLAW 2025-05
## A BYLAW TO SET THE RATES CHARGED FOR THE USE OF WATER AND SEWER SERVICES
The Council of the Village of Marengo in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
1. All persons desiring to be supplied with water from the Municipality's water supply system shall make application to the officials of the Municipality. Each application shall be accompanied by a payment of a fee in the amount of the first account for water and sewer charge under the terms of this bylaw.
2. The Municipality limits the use of water to household usage only. Watering of lawns and gardens will be permitted as provided through the Village of Marengo's Water
3. If the water supply is shut off from the premises of a user for infringement of the provisions of this bylaw, same shall not be turned on until all penalties, fees, rates, charges, and arrears, if any, have been paid.
4. The charges to be paid by the water consumer whose water service has been turned on shall be those set out in Schedule A attached; provided, however, that the minimum shall be payable in every case whether or not any water is consumed.
5. Persons who own or occupy premises drained or that are by bylaw require to be drained into the sewer shall pay for such services a rental rate or charge in accordance with Schedule A attached.
6. Accounts for water service and sewer service shall cover a period of six successive months, and shall be billed to the property owner during the first business days of the sixmonth period.
7. A penalty of 15% will be added to all water and sewer accounts outstanding at the date of next billing. Accounts that are not paid 30 days after a 15% penalty has been applied may have the water service turned off. When the water service is disconnected, it shall not be turned on until all arrears have been paid, together with a fee of $100.00 to cover the expenses of turning off the water and turning it on again.
8. Bylaw 2023-01 is hereby repealed.
9. The monthly rates, charges, tolls or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect as stated in schedule "A", upon approval being issued by the Saskatchewan Municipal Board.
