BYLAW NO. 12/2000
Taxi
Bylaw
LAKE TO
REGULATE
THE
ISSUE
OF
BUSINESS
LICENSES FOR THE OPERATION
OF TAXI VEHICLES
IN THE TOWN
OF
MEADOW
LAKE.
The
Council
of the
Town
of Meadow
Lake
in the
Province
of Saskatchewan
enacts
as follows:
PART 1
-- INTRODUCTION
1.
Title
This Bylaw shall be known
and may be cited as the Taxi
Bylaw.
Scope
This
Bylaw
will apply
within the
corporate
limits of the Town
of Meadow
Lake.
PART 2
-- DEFINITIONS

Whenever
in this
Bylaw,
the following
words
or terms
are
used,
they
shall,
unless
the
content
otherwise
provides,
be
held
to
have
the
following
meanings:
la)
ADMINISTRATOR
--
shall
mean
the
Town
Administrator
of Meadow
Lake
or an employee
of the Town
designated
by the Administrator
to
act
on behalf
of the Town.
(b)
COUNCIL
-- shall mean the Council of the Town
of Meadow
Lake.
(cl
TOWN
--
shall mean
the Town
of Meadow
Lake
in
the
Province
of
Saskatchewan.
PART 3
-- REGULATIONS
A person
wishing
to license
or to have
the license
renewed
for a taxi,
shall
produce
a valid safety
inspection
certificate
obtained
from
a taxi inspection
station
certified
by SaskAuto.
A person
operating
a taxi,
having
obtained
that
taxi
inspection,
shall
carry
it
in the taxi
at all times
and
display
an inspection
decal
on the
right
side
rear
window
of the taxi.
There
will be no limit on the number
of licenses
issued
for the operation
of a
taxi vehicle
in any calendar
year.
Holders
of a current
business
license
to operate
a taxi vehicle
will be subject
to
the
provisions
and
regulations
set
out
in the
Town's
current
Business
Licensing
Bylaw.
PART 4
-- GENERAL
Bylaw
No. 7/99 is hereby
repealed.
