## CITY OF MELVILLE BYLAW NO. 07/2024
## A BYLAW OF THE CITY OF MELVILLE, SASKATCHEWAN SETTING THE MILL RATE FOR THE YEAR 2024
The Council of the City of Melville, Saskatchewan, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows;
1. The following rates of taxation expressed in terms of mills on each dollar of Assessment shall be levied on all non-exempt assessments of whatsoever nature made in the Year 2024, whether made before or after the completion of the 2024 assessment roll.
2. For General Municipal and Debenture purposes a uniform mill rate of 11.137 mills, subject to the mill rate factors in accordance with the City of Melville bylaw passed for such purposes.
3. For Library purposes as required under The Public Libraries Act, 1996, uniform mill rate of 0.05419 mills, subject to the mill rate factors in accordance with the City of Melville bylaw passed for such purposes.
4. The province has determined the 2024 education property tax mill rates to be applied on a province-wide basis will be:
- For Agricultural property, 1.42 mills
- For all commercial/industrial property, 6.86 mills
- For Residential property, 4.54 mills
- For Resource property (oil and gas, mines and pipelines), 9.88 mills
5. The penalties imposed with respect to taxes levied in the Year 2024 shall be in accordance with the City of Melville bylaws passed for such purposes.
6. That this Bylaw shall come into force and take effect from the 1st Day of January, 2024.
11. That Bylaw No. 07/2023 is hereby repealed.
