C!TY OF PR!NCE ALBERT Saskatchewan CITY OF PRINCE ALBERT BYLAW NO. 2 OF 2011 A Bylaw of the City of Prince Albert to permit the payment of property taxes through monthly instalments WHEREAS pursuant to Section 8(1) (a) of the Cities Act Council is authorized to pass bylaws in support of peace, order and good government of the city; AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 237(9) of the Cities Act Council is permitted to pass a bylaw authorizing the payment of taxes by instalments; AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 242(2) of the Cities Act payment of taxes through instalments is at the option of the taxpayer; AND WHEREAS council deems it beneficial to the taxpayers of the City of Prince Albert and to be good governance practice to make the payment of Property Taxes by instalment payments an option available to individual taxpayers; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRINCE ALBERT IN OPEN MEETING ASSEMBLED ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Bylaw may be cited as "The Property Tax Instalment Payment Bylaw." 2. The application of this bylaw is restricted to those properties with tax accounts that are current and not in arrears. 3. A property for which taxes are being paid pursuant to this bylaw which comes into arrears due to a missed instalment payment will cease to be subject to this bylaw until such time as all arrears and penalties are eliminated: BYLAW NO.2 OF 2011 PAGE1 Ct'f'Y OF PRiNCE ALBERT 4. A property for which comes into arrears for a second time due to a missed payment will no longer have the option of instalment payments until such time as there is an ownership change. 5.
