## WATER AND SEWER RATES BYLAW NO. 670-2022
## TOWN OF REDVERS REDVERS, SASK.
A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF REDVERS IN THE PROVINCE OF SASKATCHEWAN TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR THE USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY WAY OF RENT OR SERVICE CHARGE FOR THE USE OF THE SEWER.
WHEREAS the Council may regulate the distribution and use of water in the Municipality and may fix the price for the use thereof and the times of payment; and WHEREAS it is deemed necessary that the properties or premises drained or required by bylaw to be drained into the sanitary sewer system shall be charged a reasonable rent or service charge for the use of the said sewer;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Town of Redvers in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
Schedule "D".
The property owner will be responsible for the utility account in general, including but not limited to customer information, service disconnections and connections along with payment for the services. The account will be under the property owner's legal name, matching their tax card The property owner shall pay to the Town of Redvers the water meter deposit in accordance with Water meters shall be read quarterly at the responsibility of the homeowner. In the event that the homeowner does not submit a reading after two consecutive quarters and by the end of the month on the third consecutive quarter, a $25 non-read fee will be added to their bill. The charges to be paid by the property owner and/or consumer in the Town of Redvers whose water service has been turned on shall be those set forth in Schedule "A". The charges to be paid by the property owner and/or consumer in the Town of Redvers whose sewer service has been turned on shall be those set forth in Schedule "B" The charges to be paid by the property owner and/or consumer outside of the Town of Redvers whose water and sewer services has been turned on shall be those set forth in Schedule "E". If the water supply is shut off from the premises of a user for infringement of the provisions of this bylaw, same shall not be turned on until all penalties, fees, rates, charges and arrears, if any, have Utility accounts for water service and/or sewer service shall be rendered quarterly. Accounts shall be paid within a period of thirty (30) days from the date on which such accounts are rendered. If an account is not paid within the said period, interest will be charged at a rate of 5% per month, and the water service may be cut off. When arrears have been paid, the state of the disconnection will be reinstated with a connection fee. The Chief Administrative Officer may, and is hereby authorized to appropriate from any deposit the amount of the said disconnection and/or connection fee and including any other amounts owing for the service.

Where a service has been disconnected on the request of a consumer, the consumer shall be charged a disconnection fee and when the service is reinstated a connection fee in accordance with Schedule Where every customer, whether services are turned on or off, shall pay the quarterly infrastructure fee of $50.00 in accordance with Schedule "F". This rate will not be prorated in any situation. Bylaw 656-2020 and 609-2016 are hereby repealed. The rates, charges, tolls, or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect on the day of approval being issued by the Local Government Committ

SCHEDULE "A"
Quarterly Water Rates:
Basic water rate: $85.00 per 1000 gallons over: $6.58
6,000 gallons or less Over 6,000 gallons SCHEDULE "B"
Quarterly Sewer Rates:
50% of the total water charge. In no case shall the sewer rate be less than 50% of the "Basic Water Rate".

Service Disconnection and Connection Fees:
To turn off water at curb stop $25.00 To turn on water at curb stop $25.00
Connection fees occur either at the request of the property owner to turn off water, or due to non-payment of utility charges resulting in a disconnection of service. In the case of disconnection or connection at the request of the owner, a meter reading is required the day the water is shut off and the day the water is turned back on.

Infrastructure Fee:
Every account shall be charged an infrastructure fee of $50.00 per quarter.
