TOWN OF ROSETOWN
BYLAW NO. 877-22
A BYLAW TO ESTABLISH THE ROSETOWN CEMETERY BEAUTIFICATION
COMMITTEE
The Council of the Town of Rosetown in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as
follows:
Constitution:
1.
That under the authority of The Municipalities Act, a Rosetown Cemetery
Beautification Committee be established.
Definitions
1.
In this bylaw:
(a)
"Committee" means the Rosetown Cemetery Beautification Committee.
(b)
"Council" means the council of the Town of Rosetown.
Function
The function of the committee shall be:
1.
To recommend upgrades to the Rosetown Cemetery through the Town of
Rosetown Recreation Director.
2.
To coordinate volunteers and service groups for work bees for the spring planting
of flowers and general cleaning of the Rosetown Cemetery.
Town of Rosetown Function:
1.
The Town of Rosetown is responsible for the day to day operations and budget
regarding the Rosetown Cemetery.
2.
The Town of Rosetown is responsible for the care and control of the Cemetery
Improvement Reserve.
Composition of Committee
1.
Committee members shall be appointed by Council.
2.
The committee shall consist of no less than 5 and no more than 11 members;
one (1) member shall be the Town of Rosetown Recreation Director.
3.
Each term of office shall be one year.
4.
The committee shall appoint a chairperson and secretary each year.
5.
The seat of a member of the committee shall become vacant upon the receipt of a
written notice of resignation to the secretary of the committee or upon the death of
the member.

6.
The secretary of the committee shall communicate any vacancies to the Town of
Rosetown Recreation Direction, at its next regular meeting.
7.
The council may take into consideration committee recommendations on the
filing of vacancies as they arise.
Meetings
1.
The committee shall meet at lease once per year, as established by the majority of
the committee members.
2.
A majority of the whole committee is necessary to form a quorum and no business
is to be transacted unless there is a quorum.
3.
The chairperson or his designate shall, at least once per year, report to the Town
of Rosetown Recreation Director, and shall provide a written or oral report on the
activities of the committee.
Power and Duties
1.
The Rosetown Cemetery Beautification Committee provides recommendations to
the Town of Rosetown regarding the beautification of the Rosetown Cemetery
through the Town of Rosetown Recreation Director.
Repeal of Bylaw:
1.
Bylaw No. 818-19 and all amendments there to are hereby repealed.
Come into Forces:
1.
This bylaw shall come into force and take effect on the date of third and final
reading by the Council of the Town of Rosetown.
