Bylaw #2012-02 A Bylaw of the Rural Municipality of Battle River #438 To Set the Number of Animal Units Per Acre Allowed Near Country Residential The Council of the Rural Municipality of Battle River #438, in the Province of Saskatchewan, hereby enact as follows: 1. Whereas development within the Rural Municipality of Battle River #438 is increasing we find a need to limit the number of animals allowed on property so that water quality does not deteriorate. 2. "Animal Unit" means ONE animal of any kind, not including domestic animals. 3. "Country Residential" for the purpose of this bylaw shall mean any quarter section of land that has been subdivided for residential purpose which contains more than one residence. 4. Any person wanting to house animals on property located within the municipality shall be limited to one animal unit per 1acre. Anything over shall be limited to numbers as contained in the Intensive Livestock Act & Regulations. 5. Any person wanting to house animals on property located within a 1/2 mile radius of country residential property shall be limited to one animal unit per 2 acres. 6. Council reserve the right to limit animal units further if problems arise, each case on an individual basis. 7. Any person who is in contravention to this bylaw shall be liable to penalty contained in The Municipalities Act, Section 381(3) to be set by council to a maximum of $2,000 for each offence. 8.
