## RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF BEAVER RIVER NO. 622 ## BYLAW 02-18 ## A BYLAW TO REGULATE THE USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED The Council of the Rural Municipality of Beaver River No. 622 in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows: 1. All lots within the Lauman's Landing Subdivision whether hooked up to the municipal water system or not shall be subject to a basic fee per lot, regardless of consumption. 2. All persons desiring to be supplied with water from the Municipality's water supply system shall make application to the municipality. Each application shall be accompanied by the payment of a fee or water meter deposit in the amount set out in "Schedule A" (if applicable). 3. The charges to be paid by the Lauman's Landing property owner on shall be those set out in "Schedule "A" attached, provided, however, that the minimum shall be payable in every case whether or not any water is consumed. 4. Accounts for water service shall cover a period of 12 successive months, unless otherwise specified on "Schedule A" and shall be rendered on or before the first day of the month next following such period. Accounts shall be paid within a period of thirty days from the date on which such accounts are rendered. If an account is not paid within the period of thirty (30) days, the water service may be shut off. When the water service is cut off, it shall not be turned on until all arrears have been paid, together with a fee of $200.00 to cover the expenses of turning off the water and turning it on again. 5. A charge of $100.00 shall be made for shutting off the water service and a charge of $100.00 shall be made for subsequently turning on the water service. 6. Utility bills which remain unpaid after the last day of the month following the billing cycle shall be subject to a compound interest rate of 1.00% per month, added on the first day of each month. Applied to: - a) The total utility bill(s) and penalties that remain unpaid at the end of the month preceding the month in which the penalty is being applied. 7. If any rates, costs, charges or penalties accrued by property owners under the authority of this bylaw remain unpaid December 31 of each year, that amount shall be added to and thereby form part of the property owner's taxes on the land or buildings with respect to which the service was provided. 8. If any rates, costs, charges or penalties accrued by a renter of a property under the authority of this bylaw remains unpaid as of December 31% of each year, that amount shall be added to and thereby form part of the property owner's taxes on the land or buildings with respect to which the service was provided. 9. The Rural Municipality of Beaver River No. 622 shall reserve the right to ration or limit the amount of water furnished to any or all consumers, should circumstances seem to warrant such action. 10. This bylaw shall take force and come into effect upon approval of the Saskatchewan Municipal Board. 11.
