## BYLAW NO. 01-2023
## A BYLAW OF THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF BRITANNIA NO. 502 TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR WATER USE AND SEWER SERVICE
The Council of the Rural Municipality of Britannia No. 502, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
1. This Bylaw shall be known as the Utility Rates Bylaw.
2. The charges to be paid by a water consumer whose water services have been turned on in accordance with the Water and Sewer Utility Administration Bylaw, shall be those set out in Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of this Bylaw.
3. Consumers who own or occupy premises drained or that are required to be drained into the sanitary sewer shall pay for such services, the charges set out in Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of this bylaw.
4. Utility accounts shall be billed monthly, at the beginning of each month, to cover the services that were used in the previous month.
5. The following properties are exempt from water and sewer charges:
- a) Hillmond Redden Arena - Blk/Par B - Plan 101884901 Ext O
- b) Britannia United Services Memorial Hall - BIk/Par A -- Plan 101884901 Ext O
- c) The R.M. of Britannia No. 502 Municipal Shop - Blk/Par AA - Plan 99B06024 Ext 1
6. A monthly interest charge of two (2) percent shall be added to the balance of any account aged 90 days or over, on the first day of every month. The monthly interest charge shall only be applied to any portion of the account aged 90 days or over. The age of the account balance shall be determined based on invoice date.
7. If a utility account remains outstanding more than 120 days, a final reminder notice shall be sent to the Owner, stating that if arrears are not paid within 30 days, the water utility service will be disconnected. All fees associated with disconnection and reconnection along with all arrears will be required to be paid in full prior to reconnection. Any unpaid fees will be added to the outstanding utility account.
8. As provided for in Section 369(1)(b) of The Municipalities Act 2006, unpaid charges for a utility service provided to a parcel by the public utility that are owing with respect to the parcel may be added to the tax roll for that parcel.
9. The rates, charges, tolls, or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect on the day of approval being issued by the Local Government Committee or March 1, 2023, whichever is the later.
10. Bylaw 24-2022 is hereby repealed
