## RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ELDON No. 471 BYLAW NO. 10-2020
## A BYLAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE NUMBERING OF RESIDENCES AND OTHER BUILDINGS
The Council of the Rural Municipality of Eldon No. 471 in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
1. This bylaw may be referred to as the "Civic Addressing Bylaw".
2. A uniform system of numbering residences and buildings is hereby established and is shown on the attached list identified as Schedule "A", appended hereto and forming a part of this bylaw.
3. A separate number shall be assigned for each 40 meters of frontage. Oil batteries and farm bin yards will have civic addresses as listed in Schedule "A". Oil and gas wells will be exempt from civic addressing as well as vacant farm yards.
4. Each property shall bear the number assigned to the residence or place of business.
5. In case a yard has more than one family dwelling or business, each house or building shall bear a separate number.
6. The municipality will supply and install all initial civic addressing signs at no cost to the land owner.
7. All replacement civic address signs will be purchased and installed by the municipality. The cost of replacement signs and installation are the responsibility of the land owner and will be set at the current replacement cost incurred by the R.M. of Eldon No. 471 upon order.
8. Once the civic addressing sign is installed, it is the property owner's responsibility to maintain the area around the sign and keep it legible from the road and free of obstructions.
9. No person shall in any way alter, deface or attach any additional signage to the rural address sign or sign post.
10. Signs indicating the official number of each property shall be posted in a manner described in the policy for Installation of Civic Address Signs identified as Schedule "B".
11. The Administrator shall be responsible for maintaining the numbering system and shall keep a record of all numbers assigned under this bylaw.
12. Any person who contravenes the provisions of this bylaw is guilty of an offence and upon conviction shall be liable as per the General Penalty Bylaw.
13. All existing numbers of houses and other buildings not now conforming to the provisions of this bylaw shall be changed to conform to the system herein adopted.

## R.M. OF ELDON No. 471 POLICY FOR INSTALLATION OF CIVIC ADDRESS SIGNS
## POLICY
In order to assist in providing protective services dispatch service to rural locations in a visible, uniform location.
## APPLICATION
- Placement of the civic address signs should be confirmed with the land owner.
## Sign Location
- It is critical for signage to be visible.
- Signs will be installed on the side of driveway that best suits the land owners property.
- The sign shall be installed up to the municipality's side of the road allowance.
- Sign height - the bottom edge of the sign shall be a minimum of 4 feet from the ground
## Sign Specifications
- 60 cm x 30 cm
- Double-sided
- 12 cm Swiss 924BT text top, 8.75 cm Swiss 924BT text on bottom
- White text on blue high intensity prismatic sheeting
- 4 x 4 treated wood sign posts
## Installation, Maintenance and Replacement
- The RM of Eldon No. 471 will install all initial civic address signs for residential properties at no initial cost to the landowner.
- The property owner is responsible to maintain the area around the sign.
- Replacement signs will be purchased and installed by the municipality. The landowner will be responsible for the costs.
