g) Pest Control Officer: shall mean a person appointed by Council to trap, hunt and
dispose of any pest animals.
h) Sling Shot: means a Y-shaped implement with a loop of elastic fastened to the ends of
the two prongs, used for shooting stones or other small missiles.
4. REGULA TIO NS
a) No person shall discharge any gun or other firearm, crossbow, sling shot, or any other
device that is designated for or capable of discharging projectiles within Division 7,
except a Peace Officer as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada; the Pest Control
Officer appointed by Council, or any other person appointed by council to control
nuisance wildlife within Division 7.
b) No person shall carry any gun or other firearm within Division 7, while
same is loaded except a Peace Officer as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.
c) No person shall carry any gun or other firearm within Division 7, while
same is visible to the public except a Peace Office as defined in the Criminal Code of
Canada.
d) The manufacture of fireworks is prohibited within Division 7.
e) No minor shall be in possession of fireworks.
f) All permits issued pursuant to this Bylaw shall be subject to such conditions, restrictions
and provisions as the council may consider necessary and expedient to incorporate
therein.
g) The person or organization responsible for setting off fireworks shall carry liability
insurance in the amount of two million ($2,000,000.00) dollars.
h) Each retail outlet offering fireworks for sale within Division 7 must display the special
permit that has been purchased from the Rural Municipality of Milton No. 292.
5. OFFENCES AND PENALTIES
a)
A person who contravenes any of the provisions of subsections of this bylaw or fails to
comply therewith or with any notice given thereunder is guilt of an offense and is liable
to a $125.00 penalty per section violated.
b)
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Bylaw as NOT specifically set out in
subsection (a) or fails to comply therewith, or with any notice given thereunder, is guilty
of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine in an amount not exceeding
that provided for by the Rural Municipality of Milton No. 292 General Penalty Bylaw.
