BYLAW No. 2021-08 A BYLAW OF THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF SHELLBROOK No. 493 TO PREVENT AND CONTROL MALIGNANT CATARRHAL FEVER (MCF) Definition: Malignant Catarrhal Fever is a fatal infectious disease of bison and other ruminants;  MCF is caused by the herpes virus.  The natural host of MCF is Sheep.  The virus does not cause the disease in sheep, but it is transmitted to a susceptible species such as bison it can cause disease resulting in death. With authority by The Planning and Development Act, 2007 which gives the municipality the authority to govern their community's development interests with respect to land use the Council of the Rural Municipality of Shellbrook No. 493 in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows: 1. This Bylaw may be referenced as the "MCF Bylaw". 2. This Bylaw applies to the entire area of the Rural Municipality of Shellbrook No. 493. 3. Bison and Sheep shall be pastured a minimum of 1.6 km (1 mile) apart. The pasture established first (bison or sheep) will be exempt from approval, the subsequent pasture will be considered a prohibited use. ................................................
