M-11 ## Animal Control ## BYLAW NO. 03-2011 ## A BYLAW TO PROHIBIT ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE. Saskatchewan enacts as follows: The Council of the Rural Municipality of Turtle River No. 469 in the Province of 1. This bylaw may be referenced as the "Animal Control Bylaw" 2. For the purpose of this bylaw, the expression: municipality; (a) "dogs" shall mean members of the canis genus species; (b) "administrator" shall mean the administrator of the municipality; (c) "council" shall mean the council of the municipality; (d) "designated officer" shall mean that person designated by council of the (g) "dog catcher" shall mean (e) "municipality" shall mean the Rural Municipality of Turtle River No.469; (f) "pound keeper" shall mean the person appointed as pound keeper by the council of the municipality; - provisions of this Bylaw. (2) The dog catcher, or any other person authorized by the council, may seize, capture and impound any dog running at large contrary to the Provisions of this Bylaw. (3) Whenever any dog is impounded, the dog catcher shall as soon as reasonable, notify the owner in person or by telephone. If the owner is unknown, a notice shall be posted in the Rural Municipality of Turtle River ## office. 3. No dog shall run at large in the Municipality. 4. A person who owns, possesses or harbours a dog found running at large in the Municipality shall be deemed guilty of an infraction of this bylaw. this bylaw to the municipal pound, where it shall be kept for five (5) days which harbourer redeems the animal by paying at the Administration office a fine in the amount of $100.00 in addition to the sum of $50.00 per day or partial day for the care and keep of each animal. 5. A person who contravenes of any of the provisions of this bylaw shall be guilty of an offence and upon summary of conviction, shall be liable to a maximum penalty of $600.00 for the first offence and an additional $100.00 applied for each subsequent offence. 9.
