THE RESORT VILLAGE OF SUNSET COVE
BYLAW 79/2010
Over Dimensioned Building Bylaw
The Council of the Resort Village of Sunset Cove, in the province of Saskatchewan,
enacts as follows:
Over Dimensioned Building:
1.0 Any building of a width greater than 3.0 metres (10 feet) shall be deemed to be an
over-dimensioned building. It shall be unlawful for any person to move or remove
any over-dimensioned building, on or onto or from any site located within the
Resort Village of Sunset Cove unless they have first obtained an over-
dimensional move permit from the Resort Village of Sunset Cove.
2.0 No person other than a provincial licensed building mover, (hereafter called "the
Applicant"), shall move any over-dimensioned building within the limits of
the Resort Village of Sunset Cove. Every application to the Resort Village of
Sunset Cove for a permit to move any building shall contain full particulars
regarding the location of the building, the place to which it is to be moved, the
object of removal, the proposed route and the time when the building
is expected to be in the Resort Village of Sunset Cove and the expected length of
time Mountain Drive and the north/south grid road leading into the Resort Village
of Sunset Cove will be blocked. An over-dimensional move permit fee, as set by
the Resort Village of Sunset Cove, shall accompany the application.
2.1 During the move, the Applicant must carry the over-dimensional move permit
with them at all times.
2.2 All moves shall be conducted during the daytime between the hours of sunrise
and sunset.
3.0 The Resort Village of Sunset Cove will also require from the Applicant, a deposit,
performance bond, a bond of Indemnity, policy of insurance and/or other
satisfactory undertaking that the over-dimensional move will be made to comply
with all legal requirements; indemnifying or insuring the Resort Village of Sunset
Cove against all claims and demands, actions, suits, or other proceedings, and
against all loss and costs of whatsoever kind which may, whether wholly or
partially, be caused by, or arise out of, or in any way be attributable or incidental
to the occupancy of such street. All costs and/or damages to property located
within the Resort Village of Sunset Cove, associated to the building move, shall
be the full responsibility of Applicant.
4.0 The Applicant or his representative must attend a pre-move site meeting,
scheduled with the Resort Village of Sunset Cove and have paid in advance all
fees and other costs associated to this move. Failure to attend this meeting or to
make payment will result in the over-dimensional move permit being cancelled.
5.0 The Applicant to whom a permit is granted to move any building shall move the
same within 21 days from the date of the permit, after which date, the permit shall
have expired. If the building has not been moved within the said period of 21 days
the Resort Village of Sunset Cove may upon application, renew the said permit
for a further period not exceeding 21 days. There shall be no charge for any such
renewal permit.
Fees:
6.0 The fee for the over-dimensional move permit is set at $50.00.
6.1 The Applicant shall deposit with the Resort Village of Sunset Cove a minimum
amount of $2,000.00, or such sum as the Council or its authorized representative
considers sufficient to cover the cost of restoring the property located within
the Resort Village of Sunset Cove to the pre-move condition and that it is, in the
opinion of Council or its authorized representative, not in a condition dangerous
to the public safety.
6.2 Upon completion of the move, if the Applicant restores the property within Resort
Village of Sunset Cove to a condition satisfactory to the local authority or its
authorized representative, the sum deposited, or any unused portion, shall be
refunded.

I the undersigned applicant, hereby acknowledge that the granting of a permit does not
preclude application of any other applicable regulations or policies, nor does it preclude
the need to obtain permission from any authority having jurisdiction with respect to an
overhead structure or other impediment, and
I hereby declare that the vehicle(s) to be utilized to move the above noted load, are duly
licensed in the Province of Saskatchewan for the current year and bear the following
LICENSE PLATE NO: ________
Further I hereby undertake and agree to be responsible for and pay to the Resort Village
of Sunset Cove all or any damages which I may cause or any of my servants, employees
or agents may cause to or any property of the Resort Village of Sunset Cove or any other
property while moving said load under the terms of the permit or license granted to me
for the purposed, the amount of all claims which might be made against it for damages to
property or persons by reason of anything which I or any of my servants, employees, or
agents may do under the terms of the permit or license which may be granted to me by
reason or this application.
Further I hereby undertake and agree to be responsible for and pay to the Resort Village
of Sunset Cove all or any costs that are involved with accommodating movement through
the Resort Village of Sunset Cove
