TOWN OF UNITY
BYLAW NUMBER 1152-P-24
A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF UNITY TO SET THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR THE
USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO SET THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY
WAY OF RENT OR SERVICE FOR THE USE OF SEWER

The Council of the Town of Unity ('Town') in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
1. This bylaw may be cited as The Town of Unity Water and Sewer Rates Bylaw.
2. Definitions:
- "All others" shall mean the remaining utility consumers, which receive water service from
the Town of Unity Municipal Water System.
- "Farm" shall mean the utility consumer located on the Pt. W1/2 24-40-23 W3rd M, which
receives water service from the Town of Unity municipal water system and the utility
consumer, located on the SW ¼ 27-40-23- W3rd M who receives raw water from the Town
of Unity municipal water system for irrigation purposes only.
3. The rates to be charged for water meters and consumption charges shall be those as set out
in Schedule "A" attached hereto.
4. The rates to be charged as a sewer service charge shall be as set out in Schedule "B"
attached hereto.
5. The rates to be charged for as an Infrastructure Levy shall be set out in Schedule "C"
attached hereto.
6. Accounts for water and/or sewer service shall cover a period of one month, and shall be
due and payable when rendered. Service will be discontinued without further notice if not
paid by the 30th of the month following billing date, and will not be turned on again until
all arrears have been paid, and a reconnect fee of $175.00 has also been paid.
7. Properties having a disconnected water meter shall pay ONLY the meter charges and the
Infrastructure Levy as set out in Schedule 'A' and Schedule 'C' respectively.
8. Bylaw Number 1115-P-21 is hereby repealed.
9. The rates, charges, tolls or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take
effect on the day of approval being issued by the Local Government Committee.

A. INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY
1. Infrastructure Levy charged per monthly billing allocated to Water and Sewer
infrastructure projects:
a. $34.00 per residence/unit per month;
b. $34.00 per business/unit per month;
c. $7.00 per room for Hotels and Hospital/Long Term Care per month;
d. $17.00 per farm/acreage user per month. (Subject to water infrastructure projects
only as no sewer service is provided.)
