## TOWN OF WATROUS BYLAW NO. 06-2001
## A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF WATROUS IN THE PROVINCE OF SASKATCHEWAN TO REGULATE THE BURNING OF REFUSE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF WATROUS.
The Council of the Town of Watrous in the Province of Saskatchewan, under the authority of the Saskatchewan Clean: Air Act, Section 18, hereby enacts as follows:
1. All terms and expressions used in this bylaw shall have the same respective meanings as in Section 2 and 18: of the Clean Air Act and Section I1 of the Clean Air Regulations.
2. No person shall cause or permit to be caused the open burning of rubbish, garden refuse, manuro, animal carcasses, any material classified as a dangerous good, or any material which when burned, will generate lack smoke or an offensive odor including insulation from electrical coring or equipment, asphall roofing laterials, hydrocarbons, plastics, rubber materiais, creosoted wood, or any similar malerial in an open fin in a manner that causes air pollution within the boundaries of the Town of Watrous.
3. Section 2 of the Bylaw does not apply to outdoor fireplaces or outdoor fires, used for recreational purposes, burning charcoal or cut, seasoned wood, when:
- b) The size of the fire box of any receptacle does not exceed .61 cubic meters; and
- a) The fire is contained in a non-combustible receptacle construcied of cement, brick or sheet metal withi a minimum 18 gauge thickness and covered with a heavy gauge metal screen with openings not exceeding 13 millimeters; and
- c) A responsible adult is supervising the fire: and
- e) The fire does not cause unreasonable interference with the use and enjoyment of another person's property.
- d) The open fire is not set in windy conditions conducive to creating a running fire or a nuisance to apother person; and
4. Section 2 of this bylaw does not apply to a fire, authorized by the Fire Chief or designate, for the purpose of burning weeds, the prevention or control of fire or the training of persons for fire fighting, if the fire is specifically authorized or required pursuant to any act or bylaw.
- S. ny person who violates or falls to comply with any of the provisions of this bylaw is guilty of a Tense and liable on summary conviction to the penalties set out in the reneral penalty bylaw of th Town of Watrous.
- G. This Bylaw shall come into force and take effect upon approval by Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management.
