Village of Teslin
By-Law # 25-259
A By-Law of the Village of Teslin to levy real property taxes.
WHEREAS Sections 55 and 58 of the Assessment and Taxation Act, being Chapter
13, and Section 246 of the Municipal Act requires that each taxing authority shall be
by by-law made on or before April 15 in each year, levy taxes in accordance with this
Act upon taxable real property that is within its jurisdiction.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Village of Teslin, in open meeting assembled,
hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
SHORT TITLE:
1.
This By-Law may be cited as the "Property Taxation Levy By-Law 2025"
TAXATION RATES
2.
There shall be levied upon all taxable real property known as residential in the
Municipality of Teslin, a general tax for 2025 at the rate of 1.23 (one point two
three) percentum.
3.
There shall be levied upon all taxable real property known as Commercial property
in the Village of Teslin, a general tax for 2025 at the rate of 1.27 (one point two
seven) per centum.
MINIMUM TAX LEVY
4.
A minimum of $125.00 (one hundred twenty-five dollars) shall be applied to all
properties described above when the percent rate applied will result in an amount
less than or equal to the minimum tax.
ENACTMENT
5.
This By-Law shall come into full force and effect on final passing thereof.
Read a first & second time this 10th day of March, 2025.
Read a third time and finally passed this 24th day of March, 2025.
