## ORDINANCE NO.: 2024-06 ## AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE A NEW CHAPTER OF THE CODE OF ## BY ADOPTING THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE ## THE TOWN OF BRIDGEVILLE, CODE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTIES WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Bridgeville have all powers granted to municipal corporations and to cities by the Constitution and general law of the State of Delaware, including the implied powers necessary to carry into execution all the powers granted; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Town of Bridgeville find it desirable to have a property maintenance code in order to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the Town of Bridgeville; and ## NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF BRIDGEVILLE to read as follows: - Section 1. That Ordinance 2024-06, attached hereto, is hereby adopted as an ordinance of the Town of Bridgeville. - Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption by a majority of all Commissioners. ## Chapter 69 - General Property Maintenance Standards ## §69-1. Adoption of Code - A. The International Property Maintenance Code, 2021 Edition, and all subsequent editions thereof as published, with the following revisions to Chapter 1, Section 103.1, are hereby adopted as the Property Maintenance Code of the Town of Bridgeville. In the event that there exist any contlicts between the provisions of the International Property Maintenance Code and the provisions of this Municipal Code of the Town of Bridgeville, the provisions of this Municipal Code of the Town of Bridgeville shall prevail. Amendments to the International Building Maintenance Code by its publishers shall not require legislative action by the Town of Bridgeville Commission to adopt such amendments, and such amendments shall become incorporated herein. - B. The provisions of the International Property Maintenance Code, 2021 Edition, are hereby amended to state as follows: 2. "103.1 Creation of Agency. These regulations shall be known as the Property Maintenance Code of the Town of Bridgeville, hereinafter referred to as "this Code."
