RESOLUTION NO. 7668 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOULDER CITY, NEVADA, REPEALING AND REPLACING RESOLUTION NO. 7032 TO INCREASE RATES FOR SEWER SERVICES WHEREAS, Section 135 of the City Charter of Boulder City authorizes the City to establish and operate its own utilities for the benefit of City residents; and WHEREAS, Title 9, Chapter 9 of the Boulder City Municipal Code establishes regulations for the municipally owned sewer utility of Boulder City, Nevada; and WHEREAS, Section 136 of the City Charter and Section 9- 9- 15(A) of the City Code allow the City Council to set utility rates by resolution following a public hearing, and WHEREAS, sewer rates were last adjusted on November 12, 2019 by Resolution No. 7032; and WHEREAS, the cost of sewer has increased; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and its citizens to establish rates to keep revenues abreast of expenses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7032 be repealed in its entirety, and that the following rates and calculation methods be established for sewer services within Boulder City effective July 1 through June 30th period (" Fiscal Year" or " FY") as stipulated herein: A RESIDENTIAL DWELLING Monthly charge for each single-family or mobile home estate residence and per unit per month for each multi -family dwelling unit is as depicted in the following table. Such contracts must be approved by the City Council prior to becoming effective. MUNICIPAL RATES All meters categorized as Boulder City Owned Facilities shall be charged the monthly service charge. F. REVIEW PERIOD. Utility rates shall be reviewed by the City Council at least once every three years. In the event utility rates are not reviewed, the rates for FY 2026 will carry forward until such time as rates can be reviewed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing rates and calculation methods shall apply to sewer utility accounts which are billed on or after October 1, 2023, and each year' s increases apply to sewer utility services billed on or after October 1 of each year. Utility customers operating under special contract with the City will continue to operate under that contract, unless the contract specifically states that their rates may be adjusted with resolutions approved by City Council.
