Home Font Resizer A A A # Building Permit and Safety Code Permits The necessary Safety Code Permit approvals (building, electrical, gas, plumbing, and private sewage) are required for certain types of development. Please contact the Inspections Group for Safety Code Permit and inspection inquiries. Use this checklist for residential building permit applications. Either apply as the Property Owner or as the Contractor. The building permit application can be sent directly to the Safety Codes permitting agency, The Inspections Group Inc. for processing. Application - Building Permit ## Site Plan The Site Plan must clearly indicate: * location of the proposed development in relation to the closest property line(s) and existing structures * location of existing/proposed on-site private sewage disposal system (pump out, field, mound, etc.) and source of water (well, cistern) * location of existing/proposed access * location of any utilities, pipelines, and gas/oil wells * location of any wetlands, rivers/drainage courses, and bodies of water * location of customer parking (if a business) * any other details that may be required by the Development Authority For your convenience, you may utilize the County's public WebMap/GIS system to prepare your site plan. Note: Although engineering isn't required for your development application, you will require engineered design and stamped drawings for your building permit application. Engineered design and stamped drawings are also required for floating slab foundations for garages/shops that are larger than 24' x 26'. Modular Mobile Home Info Sheet ## Home Warranty Certificate As part of your building permit application for a new dwelling, submit your new home warranty certificate or exemption.
