## Village of Edgerton ## BYLAW #04-21 ## Playground Speed Limit Bylaw ## A BYLAW TO AMEND BYLAW #02-64 AND ESTABLISH PLAYGROUND SPEED LIMITS WHEREAS the Village of Edgerton seeks to provide good government and to create a safe community; and WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statues of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, and amendments thereto, s.549-551, allows Council to pass bylaws respecting the safety, health, and welfare of people and the protection of people and property; THEREFORE the Council of the Village of Edgerton, in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, does hereby enact as follows: ## PART I: BYLAW TITLE 1.1 This bylaw shall be known as the "Playground Speed Limit Bylaw." ## PART II: DEFINITIONS - 2.2 "Council" means the body composed of the elected officials of the Village of Edgerton; - 2.1 "Village" means the municipal corporation of the Village of Edgerton in the Province of Alberta; - 2.3 "CAO" means the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village of Edgerton; - 2.4 "Playground" means an area designated for and equipped for outdoor recreation, specifically for ## PART III: PROHIBITIONS - 3.2 Designated playground areas are all of 51st street from 54** avenue to 55"h avenue, and all of 50th street from 50th avenue to 51% avenue, and the western half block of 51st avenue from 50th street to 49th street, as per Schedule A; - 3.1 No vehicular traffic passing through a designated playground area shall exceed the posted playground speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour; - 3.3 Vehicular traffic that exceeds the posted playground speed limit may be subject to enforcement, at the Village CAO's discretion. ## PART IV: SEVERABILITY - 4.1 Should any provision of this Bylaw be found invalid, the invalid provision shall be severed and the remaining Bylaw shall be maintained ## PART V: EFFECTIVE DATE - 5.2 This bylaw is an amendment to Bylaw #02-64 concerning established speed limits within the Village of Edgerton. - 5.1 This bylaw shall come into force upon receipt of its third and final reading. <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> - PART VI: READINGS 6.1 Read a FIRST time this Z b day or the 2021. - 6.2 Read a SECOND time this davor May 2022. - 6.3 Read a THIRD and FINAL time with UNANIMOUS consent this 26 your MAXOR, Kaylan White \_ day or Maly 2021.
