OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF LESSER SLAVE RIVER NO. 124
Being a Bylaw for the purpose of establishing maximum speed limits on rural roads
in the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River No. 124
in the Province of Alberta
WHEREAS, under provisions of the Traffic Safety Act and Regulations and amendments thereto, authorizes Council of a
Municipal District to establish maximum speed limits for highways subject to its direction, control, and management; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Municipal District deems it advisable to establish maximum speed limits for highways subject
to such direction, control and management;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council for the Municipal District in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enacts as follows:
1.
That a maximum speed limit of EIGHTY (80) kilometers per hour be established for all highways subject to the
direction, control and management of the Municipal District in the Province of Alberta.
2.
That maximum speed limits on highways subject to the direction, control and management of the Municipal
District may vary as established and described in Schedule 'A"; attached and forming part of this Bylaw.
3.
That a maximum speed limit of THIRTY (30) kilometers per hour be established for all highways which are
identified as a school zone or a playground zone by a traffic control device in the manner prescribed by the
Regulations.
4.
That an authorized person (Chief Administrative Offièer or persons authorized by the Chief Administrative Officer)
of Municipal District may, by signs posted along highways subject to the direction, control and management of the
Municipal District, fix a maximum speed limit in respect of any part of the highway under construction or repair or
in astate of disrepair, applicable to all vehicles or to any class or classes of vehicles while traveling over that part of
the highway.
5.
That the proper speed limit sign postings be established thereof.
6.
That Bylaw 2003-03 is hereby rescinded.
7.
That Bylaw 2008-11 (Amendment) is hereby rescinded.
8.
That Bylaw 2012-07 is hereby rescinded.
