In the Specialized Municipality of Municipality of Jasper, Alberta, backyard hens & livestock rules are set by Jasper Domestic Animal Bylaw #126 (2010), verified 2026-09-27. Max hens: four (4). Livestock rule: No person shall Keep Livestock except for sanctioned rodeo; horses may be ridden/driven for business, rodeo, or parades. Permit or licence: Dog/Cat Licence required; fees in Schedule 'A' (intact dog $105.00, intact cat $100.00, neutered/spayed dog $30.00, neutered/spayed cat $15.00).
