TOWN OF PEACE RIVER
BYLAW NO. 2185
BEING A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF PEACE RIVER IN THE PROVINCE OF
ALBERTA TO ESTABLISH RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE PROVISION OF
WATER, STORMWATER, SEWER, AND SOLID WASTE SERVICES WITHIN THE
TOWN OF PEACE RIVER
WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, C. M-26, as amended,
grants authority to the municipality for the provision of municipal public utilities
subject to any terms, costs or charges established by the municipal Council;
WHEREAS the Town of Peace River provides water, stormwater and sanitary sewer
services pursuant to the Town of Peace River's Utility Services Bylaw, which Bylaw
contemplates the imposition of rates, fees and charges set out in a rates bylaw;
WHEREAS the Town of Peace River provides water services to entities and other
municipalities adjoining the Town of Peace River;
WHEREAS the Town of Peace River provides services for the collection, removal,
and disposal of municipal solid waste pursuant to the Town of Peace River's
Municipal Solid Waste Bylaw, which Bylaw contemplates the imposition of rates,
fees and charges set out in a rates bylaw;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it prudent to establish utility rates for water,
stormwater, sewer, and solid waste services provided by the Town of Peace
River;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Peace River, duly assembled, hereby
enacts as follows:
TITLE
1.
This Bylaw may be cited as the "Utility Rates Bylaw for 2026".
DEFINITIONS

In this Bylaw, all terms and references defined within the Town's Utility
Services Bylaw and Municipal Solid Waste Bylaw shall be used to define
the same such terms and references used throughout this Bylaw.
RATES
3.
The fees and charges payable for the Water, Stormwater, Sanitary Sewer,
and Solid Waste services shall be as detailed in Schedules "A" and "B",
which are attached to and form a part of this Bylaw.
REPEAL
4.
Bylaw No. 2161, and any amendments thereto are hereby repealed.

SEVERABILITY
5.
If any portion of this Bylaw is declared invalid by a court of competent
jurisdiction, then the invalid portion shall be severed.
This Bylaw comes into force and effect on January 1, 2026.
READ a first time this 24th day of November, 2025.
READ a second time this 8th day of December, 2025.
READ a third and final time this 15th day of December 2025.
