# Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw Update #### The Village of Anmore is updating its Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw to reflect current infrastructure costs, projected growth, and changes to provincial legislation. This page provides information about the project, opportunities for public engagement, and project resources. ### What are Development Cost Charges? **Development Cost Charges (DCCs)** are **one-time fees paid by developers** when new residential or commercial development occurs. These fees help fund eligible infrastructure needed to support growth, ensuring that development contributes to growth-related infrastructure costs rather than relying solely on existing taxpayers. **DCC funds can only be used for eligible growth-related infrastructure, including:** * Roads and transportation * Water systems * Stormwater and drainage * Parks and park improvements **DCCs cannot be used for day-to-day operations, routine maintenance, or infrastructure that serves only existing residents.** ### Why is the Village Updating the Bylaw? Anmore's current DCC Bylaw has been in place since 2005. Updating the bylaw will help ensure DCC rates: * Reflect today's construction costs * Support future infrastructure needs * Align with current provincial legislation * Help the Village plan responsibly for future growth **Project documents and the project timeline are available in the Resources section.** ### Get Informed The Village is sharing details about the proposed Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw update. **Residents, developers, and anyone interested are encouraged to review the information.** You are invited to: * Learn more about the proposed DCC Bylaw update * Review project information and display boards * Join us at the Public Information Session on Sept 15, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anmore Community Hub * Send in your questions or comments during the engagement period We will review all questions and comments before Council considers the proposed bylaw. **Updates and project resources will be posted on this page as they become available.** ### Questions or Comments? **Email the [email protected]** ### Resources ![](https://anmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/2026-08-27-dcc-thumbnail.jpg) ### Project Documents This section will be updated as project documents become available throughout the DCC Bylaw update process. ###### Public Engagement Display Boards (PDF) Public Engagement Display Boards Featured at Sept 15, 2026 Open House ###### Proposed DCC Rates (PDF) Project documents are currently being finalized and will be posted here as they become available. ###### Council & Committee Reports 2026-07-07 Report to Council - Intro of revised DCC Bylaw (COTW Meeting) #### Project Timeline The timeline below reflects the Village's current anticipated project schedule and is subject to change. * **Spring 2026** - Technical analysis and rate development * **Summer 2026** - Draft DCC Bylaw prepared * **September 9, 2026** - Developer-Focused Engagement Session * **September 15, 2026** - Open House: Public Information Session * **Fall 2026** - Council consideration * **Late 2026** - Provincial review and approval * **Early 2027** - Bylaw adoption
