# Garbage & Recycling
The Village of Harrison Hot Springs provides a Solid Waste Removal Service through GFL Environmental. This service provides for curbside collection of domestic waste, recyclables and green waste. For any questions regarding waste collection or if your garbage was not picked up, please contact GFL Environmental directly at 604-823-2116.

Domestic waste is collected on Thursdays. Place containers for collection at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection mornings only.
**Containers put out for collection after 7:00 a.m. may not be collected.**
The limits are:
* one (1) 121 liter container weighing no more than 25 kgs of organics + up to ten paper yard waste bags **OR** two (2) containers + up to eight paper yard waste bags. Organics collected weekly.
* one (1) 121 liter container weighing no more than 25 kgs of domestic waste. Domestic waste collected bi-weekly.
* Unlimited mixed recyclables. The container(s) must not exceed 121 liters weighing no more than 25 kgs and be clearly identified as a recycling container (blue recycling bags not accepted). Glass must be in a separate container. Recyclables collected bi-weekly.
* Did you know that food waste and other compostable material make up nearly 1/3 of all material sent to landfills in our region? To address this, the Village of Harrison Hot Springs introduced organic waste collection on June 1, 2017. This initiative impacts all households who currently receive waste collection service from the Village which include single-family homes and duplexes.

+ The nearest depot for recycling beverage containers and end-of-life electronics is the Agassiz Bottle Depot located at 7659 Industrial Way, Agassiz, BC.

* Extra household waste tags for residents who receive curbside collection are available for purchase at the Village Office.

**Bin Tagging**
Bin tagging is an educational activity performed by a WildSafeBC Community Coordinator. It consists of placing a highly visible and removable sticker on containers set curbside the day before collection. Click here for more information on bin tagging.
