How tall can my fence be? Do I need a fence around my pool?
In the District Municipality of Lake Country, British Columbia, fences & pool enclosures rules are set by Highways Bylaw No. 1189, 2022, Section 10 Sight Lines and 1 other bylaw, verified 2026-10-15. Sight triangle: No Fence within vertical area between 1.0 and 3.0 metres above grade within triangular area; intrusion limited to 7.5 metres from Intersection. Pool enclosure: Fencing around swimming pools shall be in accordance with the District of Lake Country Building Bylaw.

On corner lots, bans fences, retaining walls or vegetation 1.0-3.0m high within the intersection sight triangle (up to 7.5m back along both streets), with an exception for farm fences and agricultural crop trees.
