## THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF ZEBALLOS ## BYLAW #520-18 SEWER RATES AND REGULATIONS BYLAW A bylaw to provide for the imposition of a charge against the owner or occupier of real property for the use of the Municipal sewer system. WHEREAS pursuant to Part 2 of the Community Charter, a municipality may provide airy fe oct that the nother punis aers rites any ored person a dai do th AND WHEREAS pursuant to Part 7 of the Community Charter, Council has the power to provide for the establishment and use of a sewage system and impose fees payable in respect to all or part of a service of the municipality; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Village of Zeballos in open meeting assembled ENACTS THE FOLLOWING: 1. There shall be charged against the owner or occupier of land or real property, where a sewer or drain connection has been installed to the property, and where plumbing is installed on the premises and is connected to the Municipal sewer system, a sewer user fee as set forward in Schedule "A" of this bylaw; 2. Sewer user fees shall be billed annually for service January 15 through December 31st , due and payable on the first business day of July of each year; 3. In the case of a connection being made during the year, the charge imposed shall begin with the month during which the final inspection of the sewer connection was made and invoiced on a monthly basis to December 31 of the year of connection; 4. A 10% penalty shall be added to all fees set out in Schedule 'A' which are not paid by the annual due date in the year invoiced. 5. All outstanding balances plus penalties after December 31st of each year shall be transferred to taxes as arrears. 6. The municipality shall not be held liable for any interruption in or discontinuance of service provided by sewer facilities installed and maintained by the Municipality; 7. The Sewer Rates and Regulation Bylaw #489-15 and Sewer User Fee Amendment Bylaw #502-15 is repealed in its entirety; 8. Schedule "A" is attached and forms part of this bylaw. This bylaw may be cited as the "Village of Zeballos Sewer Rates and Regulations Bylaw #520-18". Senior means a person who is over 65 years of age and who meets the grant eligibility requirements as defined in the Home Owner Grant Act. ## Penalties A 10% penalty shall be added to all fees set out in Schedule 'A' which are not paid by the annual due date in the year invoiced. ## SCHEDULE "A" ATTACHED TO AND FORMING PART OF BYLAW #520-18 ## Inspection and Connection Fees Before any owner's sewer is connected to sewer connection or public collection system, the owner of the lands requiring such connection or his agent shall make application to the Village office, upon approved form set out in Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of this bylaw, for a permit to connect the owner's sewer to the public collection system and shall pay to the Village a sewer connection/inspection fee as follows: - a) Where installation of sewer connection exists, for standard 100mm (4") connection an inspection/connection fee of: $150.00 - b) Where a sewer connection is to be installed, provided a sanitary main or lateral line is within 20 meters distance of the property line, the Inspection fee shall be: $1,500.00.
