In the Rural community of Eastern Charlotte, New Brunswick, fences & pool enclosures rules are set by By-law Z.2 - A By-law to Adopt the Village of Blacks Harbour Rural Plan (predecessor: Village of Blacks Harbour), verified 2026-09-27. Max height front: 0.75 metres. Max height rear side: 1.8 metres in a Residential zone; 2.5 metres in any other zone. Pool enclosure: Swimming pool >0.6 m depth must be enclosed by fence/wall at least 1.5 m high; gate/door with self-latching device at least 1.3 m above bottom.

Caps fences at 0.75m in a required front yard (except chain-link security fencing), 1.8m in Residential zones, 2.5m elsewhere. Corner lots must keep a 5m sight triangle at intersections clear above 1m. Pools deeper than 0.6m require a 1.5m fence/wall enclosure.
