## How Property Tax is Calculated
Let's say a home is assessed at $225,000 and the residential mill rate is 9.1 mills.
1. Multiply the assessed value by the mill rate to get the property tax:
$225,000 × 0.0091 = $2,047.50
2. Add the water tax for a single-family home: $690
Total tax for 2024: $2,047.50 + $690 = $2,737.50
This total is what the homeowner would pay for the year.
