# Building Fees, Development Charges and Building By-law
## Building Permit Fees
The fees associated with building permits are outlined in the Building Permit Fee Schedule within By-Law #24 - 36. It is important to note that all fees and charges must be paid before the building permit application is issued.
## Development Charges
Development Charges (DC) are fees collected from new developments. Ontario municipalities implement these charges to recover certain costs related to both residential and non-residential growth. Developers contribute to the Town's expenses for expanded municipal services, such as new water systems, road infrastructure, parks, trails, and fire facilities.
